Editor's Note: With final Monday ratings in, The Big Bang Theory has now reached a new series high in viewers (16.32m) and was the night's top program in adults 18-49 (5.9/15), up a tenth from this morning.

Two and a Half Men delivered its best adult 18-49 rating in three years while The Big Bang Theory reached new series highs in both viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for March 8.
How I Met Your Mother was second in households (6.2/10), viewers (10.06m), adults 25-54 (4.6/12), adults 18-49 (3.9/11) and adults 18-34 (3.4/11). Compared to last week, How I Met Your Mother was even in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
Rules of Engagement was second in households (6.1/09), viewers (10.07m), adults 25-54 (4.4/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/09). Compared to last week's season premiere, Rules of Engagement was up +3% in households (from 5.9/09), +5% in adults 25-54 (from 4.2/10), +6% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09) and added +340,000 viewers (from 9.73m, +4%).
Two and a Half Men was first in households (10.5/16), viewers (17.61m), adults 25-54 (7.3/17) and adults 18-49 (5.8/15). Two and a Half Men posted its best adults 25-54 ratings since Jan. 23, 2006, and best adults 18-49 rating since Feb. 5, 2007. Compared to last week, Two and a Half Men was up +4% in households (from 10.1/15), +6% in adults 25-54 (from 6.9/15), +2% in adults 18-49 (from 5.7/14) and added +750,000 viewers (from 16.86m, +4%). Two and a Half Men was the night's top program in viewers.
The Big Bang Theory was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (16.32m), adults 25-54 (7.2/16), adults 18-49 (5.9/15) and adults 18-34 (4.1/12). The Big Bang Theory posted series highs in both viewers and adults 25-54. Compared to last week, The Big Bang Theory was up +5% in households (from 9.2/14), +1% in adults 25-54 (from 7.1/15), even in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 and added +590,000 viewers (from 15.73m, +4%). The Big Bang Theory was the night's top program in adults 18-49.
Compared to the 8:00-10:00 PM comedy block last week, CBS was up +3% in households (8.1/13 from 7.9/12), +4% in adults 25-54 (5.9/14 from 5.7/12), +2% in adults 18-49 (4.8/13 from 4.7/12) and added +340,000 viewers (13.51m from 13.17m, +3%).
CSI: MIAMI was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (11.93m), adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10).
For the night, CBS was first in households (7.9/13), viewers (12.99m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.3/12).

I hate this show with a passion. I have no idea how it got so big nor can I understand why (unlike other shows I don’t watch but can understand like CSI, American Idol, etc.). I’m gonna get flamed but it’s poorly written and caricaturizes people who like math and science.

Yes, it is a classic example of a show that was given time to develop an audience and now the network is reaping the reward.
I don’t want to fill out a Bingo card here but there is something to be said for letting a mediocre rated show live an extra year to see if it can develop and grow. Not the really poor ones, those I understand, but some bubble show get canceled before they truly hit their creative stride and get noticed by a mass audience.
Of course this being the week where this site tells me exactly how and why I am always wrong, I await the counterpoint
