UNIVISION TAKES #3 BROADCAST NETWORK SPOT ON OSCAR NIGHT, BEATING CBS AND NBC AMONG ADULTS 18-34

Sunday’s Two-Hour Grand Finale of Hit Novela “En Nombre del Amor” (In the Name of Love) Draws 5.0 Million Total Viewers 2+, 2.5 Million Adults 18-49 and 1.3 Million Adults 18-34



MIAMI, FL, MARCH 9, 2010 – The Univision Network announced today that Sunday night’s special two-hour grand finale airing of its 7pm novela “En Nombre del Amor” (In the Name of Love) helped it take the #3 broadcast network position among Adults 18-34, Men 18-34, Teens 12-17 and Persons 12-34 beating CBS and NBC during the highly-competitive Oscar® night. Univision also ranked  as the #4 broadcast network for the night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Men 18-49, beating NBC.  The final episode of  “En Nombre del Amor” attracted an average audience of 5.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 2.5 million Adults 18-49, 1.3 million Adults 18-34 and 1.7 million Persons 12-34.

Additional Network Highlights:

  • For the night (7:00pm-11:00pm), Univision was

o       The #2 broadcast network among Women 18-34, beating CBS, NBC and FOX.

o       The #3 broadcast network among Women 18-49, beating NBC and FOX.

  • During “En Nombre del Amor’s” two-hour grand finale block (8:30pm-10:30pm), Univision was

o       The #3 broadcast network among Adults 18-34, Men 18-34, Women 18-34, Teens 12-17 and Persons 12-34, beating CBS and NBC; and among Women 18-49, beating NBC and FOX.

o       The #4 broadcast network among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49, beating NBC.

  • Sunday’s two-hour grand finale of  “En Nombre Del Amor” on Univision

o       Delivered more Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 viewers than original airings of CBS’s “60 Minutes,” FOX’s “’Til Death,” and NBC’s entire line-up which consisted of “Dateline NBC” and “Movie Presentation of Bad Boys II.”

    I think cbs, abc and fox should cosider buying or making new spanish tv network and nbc should change telemundo drasticly since its not really performing right hasnt been since forever

    Thats awesome!
    I don’t even speak Spanish but some of their shows are still more entertaining to me than most CBS and NBC dramas.

    Ten Percent of US speaks Spanish and they still sometimes beat the big 4.5 networks.

    Got to be a joke in there somewhere.
