USA NETWORK STAYS ON TOP OF THE CABLE PACK

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – March 9, 2010 – USA was the #1 network in cable prime this week, delivering more P25-54 (1.26 million, +39% over #2 History Channel), P18-49 (1.15 million, +4% over #2 TBS), total viewers (2.94 million, +29% over #2 Disney Channel), and households (2.21 million, +30% over #2 FOX News Channel) than any of its cable competitors while earning the top basic cable household coverage rating of the week (2.22, +0.49 over #2 FOX News Channel).

USA continued to outperform The CW, delivering more than twice as many P25-54 (+109%) and total viewers (+107%) over the broadcaster while enjoying double-digit victories over them among P18-49 (+75%) and P18-34 (+34%). Cable’s #1 network registered victories over “Big 4” broadcast networks in 12 primetime hours this week (M-Su 8P-11P) thanks to USA Originals PSYCH, and BURN NOTICE, WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW, hit movies, and episodes of the top acquired series on cable, NCIS

  • The season finale of BURN NOTICE was the most watched scripted telecast of the week and the only one to deliver over 2 million in P25-54 or P18-49 as well as being the #1 cable telecast Thursday night, delivering the most P25-54 (2.27 million), P18-49 (2.16 million), total viewers (4.32 million), and households (3.14 million).  USA’s 10P run of BURN NOTICE delivered more M18-34 than new episodes of CSI, The Mentalist, and Private Practice
  • Last week’s episode of WHITE COLLAR was the second most watched scripted telecast of the week among P25-54 (1.58 million) and Tuesday’s most watched telecast on cable prime for this demo as well as among total viewers (3.48 million) and households (2.58 million).
  • PSYCH was the top original drama in prime Wednesday night among P25-54 (1.27 million), P18-49 (1.28 million), P18-34 (686,000), total viewers (2.87 million), and households (2.19 million).
  • NCIS continues to be the top acquired series in prime, delivering more P25-54 (1.33 million), total viewers (3.66 million), and households (2.77 million) than any other off-net series on cable.  NCIS was the only acquired series to average over 3 million total viewers or 2 million households in prime this week.
