Tuesday night's season one finale of White Collar ended on an up note, with a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 (1.854 million) and 4.035 million total viewers. That was a 27 percent improvement from the previous week with adults 18-49 and 16 percent improvement in total viewers. Additionally, 1.866 million adults 25-54 were watching. It was the #1 show of the day on cable as well as the #1 show in primetime, edging out MTV's 16 and Pregnant by 18 percent.
Season two of White Collar will kick off sometime this summer.
Last night TNT aired the second new episode from season two of Southland. It averaged a .7 rating with adults 18-49 (968,000) and 2.055 million viewers overall. That's down about 30% versus last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating and down about 18% with total viewers. Sure, TNT loves the cast and crew, but do they love these ratings?

Man, That suck to see Southland Drop, They are Probably Gonzo now…
I'm very sad that Southland went down. Maybe it'll pick up but that's a long shot.
good for White Collar. It was a great finale, but the cliffhanger felt really obvious once they showed the plane…
But John Wells eats at the Warner Brothers canteen with all the TNT guys doesn’t he? Certainly that alone is enough for them to pick up new episodes.

Awesome! The S1 finale of White Collar was excellent so I’m glad that the ratings went up!

That’s not spectacular for Southland, but that’s on par with – actually, somewhat better than – Men of a Certain Age, which I can’t imagine is substantially cheaper to produce than Southland.

Has a network show ever successfully crossed over to cable? Or even from one network to another?
Nemo: I can imagine it was substantially cheaper to produce than the episodes of Southland that are airing now. And even if that’s wrong, Men of a Certain Age is actually TNT’s first in-house production (perhaps making them more partial). “Men of a Certain Age” is loved by a lot of big name critics, too. With the in-house production + critical acclaim I don’t know how worthwhile it is to use it as a benchmark for comparative ratings.

Chris, I’d call the Law & Order: Criminal Intent move to USA successful.

Also, Chris, JAG moved from NBC after its first season to CBS were it ran for another eight or nine years.
