Ashton Kutcher can breathe a tiny bit easier as the premiere of High Society on Wednesday night became this season's least-watched premiere on the CW.  High Society's 1.26 million came in under the nearly 1.4 million who watched the premiere of The Beautiful Life: TBL, which has the Washington Post's Lisa de Moraes asking:

"Blonde Charity Mafia" suddenly doesn't look so bad, does it, CW? Especially now that you've seen the opening numbers on "High Society"?

Yet more proof that the audience CW wants don't want to watch shows about rich dumb sluts with problems

Could someone please fire Dawn Ostroff. Heck, maybe Dawn, Jeff Zucker and Ben Silverman could form a new company together. What a mess that company would be. LOL.

  3. I can't believe The CW actually think we want to watch this kind of garbage.

  4. grr_argh

you can't blame them though. people would probably watch though if it had one of the socialites stand out from the rest, but they're just pretty white young people with problems aka just like the rest of their failing programs.

The Kardashians on E get better ratings.

  6. grr_argh

    the sex tape didn't hurt.

  7. kswheels

Does this crap bombing help LUX at all?

  8. Remus

Kardashians gets better ratings than anything on The CW in quite a while… :P Yes, even The Vampire Diaries.

    N-word not ok anymore!

  10. Qhat

They should just bring back Veronica Mars.

The worst part here is that the CW hasn't learned from any of its mistakes. Unless 'rich, dumb socialite bimbos with problems' is some kind of an ideological matter to Ostroff, why doesn't she just change strategies already?

Well, if she did, she wouldn't be Dawn Ostroff now, would she…

The Kardashians are just garbage. I am actually surprised that Focus on the Family doesn't do something about this show. Don't that hate anything that makes the nuclear family look bad or potentially threatens it? I bet Dawn wishes she chose Body Politic now. Ha! You idiot! Eat it!

    When will the CW learn?

  14. tyson08

No one wants to watch shows like this…. haven't they learned?

More shows like Smallville, Vampire Diaries and Supernatural are what people are watching on the CW.

  15. In a couple of weeks “Fly Girls” will be the lead-in to “High Society” that will bomb as well. It just goes to show Dawn that people don't watch this garbage. Nearly four million tuned in to watch the premier of America's Next Top Model, but when this show came on a large majority turned their tv's off or changed the channel because it got 1.26 million viewers.Next week the numbers for the show will fall even lower.

I'm so happy it tanked. More scripted shows. “Nomad” pilot about college kids working for the CIA sounds cool.

This made my morning. Yet another show about vapid pretty people garnering no interest. Shocker. It's just insulting that they picked up TBL, MP, and this crap instead of Body Politic, which was at least about something. But once again, my demo rejects it. I suppose that's something.

  18. Joy

seriously..it has to count for something that in only 8 episodes it's ratings are practically better then all the CW shows except maybe Top Model and VD.

  19. Jared

High Society has to be one of the WORST reality shows I have ever seen. The woman and man who make up the “cast” are soO classless and disrespectful. It makes for GREAT TV!

Wow- what a shame, with all the conniving going on by the studios and certain media outlets you would think there would be more interest, but it seems the real drama is behind the scenes.
