Michael Vick Added to the Cast of Spike TV's 'Pros vs. Joes'
NEW YORK, March 12 -- One of the NFL's most electrifying and controversial stars, Michael Vick, has joined the cast of "Pros vs. Joes," taping this week in Los Angeles. Vick will join a star-studded cast, including fellow Philadelphia Eagles' QB Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens, Antonio Gates, Warrick Dunn, Isaac Bruce, Derrick Brooks and former Eagles QB, Jeff Garcia. The basketball legends are Hakeem Olajuwon, Chris Mullin, Kenny Smith, Brent Barry, Isaiah Rider and Rick Fox.
"Pros vs. Joes" features regular guys competing against an array of popular sports legends from the last two decades. As with last season, there will be only one sport played in each episode featuring three skill competitions and a three-on-three game pitting the Pros against the Joes. The sports this season will be football (4 episodes) and basketball (4 episodes).
"Pros vs. Joes" premieres on Spike TV Wednesday, July 14 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The new season, hosted by Michael Strahan and Jay Glazer, will consist of eight one-hour episodes.

Oh God. McNabb, T.O., AND VICK?!
What I wouldn't do to see a Jerry Springer style fight between the 3 of them…
Michael Vick is a “legend”? Huh, the guys in the show have usually been around a little longer but I'm sure it'll be a ratings winner for them so I guess, good move?
So the real question is will the Joes be allowed to bring their own dog to fight against Mike's or will SpikeTV provide them with one? What? The hell you say! This guy plays football !?!?!
Now I can boycott Spike along with BET as two networks that are rewarding this scumbag killer despite his past behavior.
The conceptual chain of events suggested by the graphic I find truly revolting. “Redemption”? Well, that was easy. And quick!
I can't even come up with a decent string of obscenities to express my contempt.
The guy did two years in prison so you are just ignorant if you think he hasn't been punished enough.
Boris, the above graphic is from BET for the scumbag's reality series. “The Michael Vick Project”.
JaySin, he served less than two years in prison. He DID lose a lot of money in salary and a ton in signing bonus but I don't think this is nearly enough punishment for the way he savaged those animals. The man HAS served his time and is entitle to seek employment and found a job in the NFL but getting a gig on reality television and being REWARDED for his past behavior is much different. BET and Spike should be ashamed of this and have proven themselves to be common whores.
Since Michael Vick has joined the cast, they should change the name of the show to 'Pros vs. Cons'!!

Gee, that's deep, Mr. Reading Comprehension.

Thanks. I'm still revolted, but I appreciate the clarification.
Lol I'd argue if you actually had a point.
I don't like Vick at all but all this Vick hate is just ridiculous.
Did you boycott Pro's vs Joe's when they had Jose Canseco on? or Strawberry (drugs)? or Pacman Jones (take your pick)?
Canseco for example brought steroids into the mainstream and now hundreds of thousands of high school/college kids are using them, not to mention pros.
Do you think any kids will watch this show and think about starting a dog-fighting ring?
Or is there a better chance kids have watched people like Strawberry and Canseco on the show already and thought about taking up drugs and steroids.

It isn't ridiculous when you consider what he did to those dogs.
“Canseco for example brought steroids into the mainstream and now hundreds of thousands of high school/college kids are using them, not to mention pros”
That comment is just plain stupid. Canseco came out years after he left baseball. Steroids have been around athletics, amateur and pro for a very long time. It has nothing to do with him going public. If anything, he shined the light on the problem and everyone's been cleaning up their act since.
All of this has nothing to do with why Vick is so hated. Stawberry's history with drugs was his OWN undoing. He only harmed himself. I am boycotting BET and Spike because Vick should not be rewarded for what he did. It's not rocket science
Sfkev, you need to verify your e-mail address or your future comments won't automatically show up. There should be box explaining that to you with a link on how to verify below the comment entry form.

The point is that I never said anything about his serving his prison sentence or requiring “more punishment,” chucklehead. The concept of “redemption” is moral, and not legal, in nature, something you seem to grasp about as well as Vick, given his whining in the press about “having paid his debt to society.”
Referring to oneself as an “animal advocate” doesn't make it true. And frankly, I'm not particularly impressed by the deeds so far, e.g., http://preview.tinyurl.com/mdcxuq .
“I am boycotting BET and Spike because Vick should not be rewarded for what he did. It's not rocket science”
But you didn't boycott when they had Canseco on? (That's hypocrisy anyway you slice it)
Also, Canseco is known as the Godfather of steroids for a reason.
He surely didn't “shine a light on the problem” lol that's just ignorant. He actually only came out about steroids after he got blacklisted from MLB cause he was broke and they laughed at him for years and did nothing until Congress stepped in.
And yes steroids were around before Canseco, but now they are mainstream and he is a major reason why.
Look up the facts, the recent increase of steroids in high school and college athletes is just off the charts.
I'm sure the number of people who have done steroids cause of Canseco is pretty close to the number of people that are now running dogfighting rings cause of Vick, lol.
“I'm sure the number of people who have done steroids cause of Canseco is pretty close to the number of people that are now running dogfighting rings cause of Vick, lol.”
Is there some reason you keep trying to change the subject, “lol”?
Again, Jaysin, you have absolutely no evidence that Canseco's steroid use has anything to do with amateur athletes using. When Canseco came out, he was already a has-been as an athlete, not a role model to student athletes. His motivation for writing the book is irelevant and it DID shine the spotlight on MLB and steroid use. They couldn't ignore the problem anymore and finally took action. As far as boycotting BET and Spike because of Canseco..that's just absurd. Canseco didn't do damage to anyone and he was never accused of a crime. Vick killed domestic pets in a brutal fashion. Take your head out of your ass and stop comapring apples and oranges. You sound like a retard.
