Summer Glau is back. Or will be if the pilot she's been signed to, NBC's superhero drama,"The Cape" is picked-up to series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glau will play "Orwell, a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys."
We don't normally talk about pilot season, but I'll make an exception for Glau, especially given our past experience with her on "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," and to a much lesser degree, "Dollhouse." And of course there is "Firefly," but that was before we were around.
On the plus side, I'm definitely rooting for her pilot to be picked-up. On the down side, if it is, I can already envision the thousands of comments that are themed, "Why? Why? Why did it have to be on NBC?"
Ideally NBC will pick it up, launch it on Mondays (paired with "Chuck," naturally) before ultimately moving it to Fridays.
Kidding!
Kinda.

I hated TTSCC, didn't watch Dollhouse, but loved her on (what little I've seen so far) Firefly and Serenity. Hopefully the show works out. But your line about it being paired with Chuck and then moved to Fridays sadly seems a little too likely.
Were can we put down a bet that it's the first show of the season on “soon to be on permanent hiatus list”? Firefly, T:SCC, Dollhouse? She is a show killer. Move over Paula Marshall.
Yeah, where's your info that Glau's on this show? I can't find anything on a google search for a cast list.

Ah, okay.
Am I the only one reading that proposed storyline and cringing?
That's good news. I loved her on Firefly, Terminator and The 4400. I hope that the show is written a lot better than Dollhouse was.
Should NBC really be considering another Sci-Fi show after the disaster that is Heroes?
On the down side, if it is, I can already envision the thousands of comments that are themed, “Why? Why? Why did it have to be on NBC?”
^^ Yeah, that was *exactly* my response when I read the news. But then I thought: ABC isn't much better than NBC and Fox cancels all of Summer's shows…
That's why I'm not gonna care about the network it's on, I'm just happy Summer has a new job and will be rooting for this thing to make it to series.
I am definitely rooting for that pilot to be picked up
I hope it is picked up.
Would have liked it on USA, paired with White Collar…
But this and Chuck together would be a very nice 1 – 2 punch
Tommy, Heroes downfall was it's own fault. So, yes this doesn't mean NBC shouldn't try another superhero show. Just because Heroes sunk doesn't mean this will.
What are these new and crazy comments?!
Is NBC seriously replacing Heroes with… a Superhero show? That's absurd.
Sounds interesting but it still has a long ways to go to make it into production. And if anything is going to be paired with Chuck on Mondays I'm betting it's the JJ Abrams spy show that's in development.
Of course she will be awesome! Like all Joss veterans, Summer Glau is awesome in everything she does (except for that awful Terminator show that helped kill Dollhouse!)! She has been sprayed with the Joss Sauce, which will help her in everything she does from Firefly on!
I would, however, be more inclined to watch the pilot if it was directed by someone other than this Simon West person! You will never guess who I think should direct the pilot, though! One hint: his name rhymes with Hoss Whedon! You’re never going to guess that!
And I don’t get why people would be put off by the premise of her character! Who is to say that people who write for the Internet cannot also kick ass against criminals too?! I heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone that Billbert kicks ass during his downtime! So watch what you say here or he’ll come and get you!
Summer Glau! Summer Glau! Summer Glau! Summer Glau rules! Simon West drools! Dollhouse!
It'll fail. It's on NBC. And it stars a Whedon alum.
Sounds like the series to replace Heroes…
“Investigative blogger” makes me sad about the world.
I love Josss Biggest Fan.
I like Summer Glau but I'd rather see Abrams' Undercovers series paired with Chuck.
