Is Scrubs finally canceled? The ratings say it won't be renewed and the show's creator says he doesn't think it will be renewed. Of course last year the ratings said the show wouldn't be renewed and creator Bill Lawrence said it wouldn't be renewed either. Then it was renewed.
This year, ABC's web site is also saying it is over for Scrubs where text on the show's site indicated Wednesday's episode is the shows series, rather than season finale.. But the official word out of ABC is that Wednesday's episodes is merely the show's season finale and no decision has yet been made about next season yet. The episode description also is describing it as a season, rather than a series finale.
Whether the Web site thing is merely an "oops, we meant season finale," type of slip up or not (that hasn't been changed as of yet) our guess is series finale.

I'm a huge fan of Scrubs but i'm glad is finally over! too bad they ruined the “series finale” of the “Old Scrubs” for me.
Was a good show for a long time, but it should have never come back after last seasons finale. Last season had a touching ending, which few shows get to have.
Its sad that they continued on with this show past its prime. It really takes away from what should have been the actual series finale.
All you have to do is pretend Season 9 never happened by not watching it. Which many people did (see ratings).
It really needs to be put out of its misery.
Scrubs already had a series finale last year. And it was a great one.

Season 8 really was the end of the series. Season 9 should have been the 1st season of a spin off series. I understand why they didn't do it that way, due to syndication concerns. That said it really didn't do the series any favors. I doubt it would have gotten any better ratings had it been promoted as a new series so financially I guess you can't blame ABC for trying it the way they did, but they should have left it alone and let season 8 be the end.
As long as 'Scrubs' lives, the hope for another season of 'Better Off Ted' lives too.
I do hope that the webpage “series” finale was the error of an overzealous Alphabet webmaster, and not reflective of the decision-making of Mr. Steve McPherson.
It was good…..until the 9th season….now it's basically a new crappy show under an old name.

Frankly, Scrubs being renewed for this season was the only reason BOT was renewed too, just so ABC had something to fill the other half of Scrubs' hour. Much as I loveeee BOT though, I'm accepting the fact that it's most likely not returning & just thankful it got at least 24 episodes.
But it's kinda like 'Til Death's situation, I'm hoping it's the real deal this time; like Bill Gorman “I'd be shocked if (either show) got renewed this time, but I was shocked last year too.”

Isn't it me or is Bill Lawrence (creator of Scrubs) losing interest in making TV shows? Even Cougar Town (another show he made), not even finished with season 1, is appearing to look like the season 9 of Scrubs.
Seriously just end the show, this season sucked!!
The series/Season Eight finale of Scrubs was a perfecting ending but I for one enjoy Scrubs: Med School (if you watch the end of the opening credits carefully, [Med School] can be seen on the x-ray) and would love to see it return for another season. I really do not think it is going to happen, though.
Yeah, that is definitely reading as a series finale unlike Chuck last year, which was accidentally billed as a series finale on the NBC website.
