BET’s RIP THE RUNWAY Premiere Re-defined Style with Record Ratings of 2 Million Total Viewers on BET Networks
NEW YORK – March 16 – The BET premiere of this year’s RIP THE RUNWAY made its flashy debut and garnered 2 million total viewers, making it is the #1 fashion-themed telecast on cable and the most watched show in the special’s history.
RIP THE RUNWAY on BET posted key gains compared to RIP THE RUNWAY ‘09 among adults 18-49 (+16%), men (+13%), women (+19%); and is among BET’s top five telecasts this year. Additionally, the show's ratings exhibited continuous growth each half hour. Moreover, BET and RIP THE RUNWAY-related terms dominated five of the top 10 trending topics on Twitter on Monday, March 15 (1: #riptherunway, 2: Trina, 3: Nicki Minaj, 4: Riptherunway and 5: BET).
Hosted by Pooch Hall and Nicki Minaj, this year’s RIP THE RUNWAY series premiere featured electric performances by GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Ludacris, sultry rap queen Trina, Hip-Hop princess Nicki Minaj, UK singing sensation Estelle, Bad Boy artist Janelle Monae, "All the Way Turnt Up" rapper, Roscoe Dash featuring multi-platinum artist Soulja Boy, and Grand Hustle artists, B.o.B.
