Update: 4.16 million average viewers, the second best premiere in FX history trailing only The Shield. More details on Justified's premiere Nielsen ratings.
I still haven't seen any actual numbers yet, though I'm sure we'll see some of them this afternoon -- cable networks are notorious for not releasing early numbers.
But FX PR honcho John Solberg tweeted that Justified scored the best FX numbers for a premiere in both total viewers and men 18-49 since the premiere of The Shield in 2002.

Glad to hear that – still haven't seen it but friends are pretty ecstatic about it. I wonder how much it hurt Southland
And I'm glad that White Collar didn't go against it.
That Tweety link is bad in- so-far he blocks his tweets. But I believe everything you and Rush Limbaugh always write and say! So its all good.
If only the billboards called it Justified instead of:
Just
ified
it may have done ever better!
Can't say I'm surprised. I think that'd amount to 5 million or so total viewers. Good for FX. Saw the show and felt exactly as I thought I would about it. It's enjoyable enough but, in comparison to a Lost, Breaking Bad, Lost, Sons of Anarchy, etc., relatively lightweight. So I can't say I'll be making sure to catch every episode.

So you see what I mean, then.

number wll be nice
Julia, perhaps they are targeted at the folks who just desire some “ified”.
I watched Southland and then the encore of Justified. If FX didn't have that encore it would be a tough decision as to which one I am watching next week.
DVR! Get Some!!
The show wasn't what I expected it to be…
I was expecting Sopranos… the cowboy in a poverish Louisiana town version.
What I got was … a cowboy lawman in a modern setting… procedural.
I'm not entirely dissatisfied. I enjoyed it, I'll watch it again. (Though it would've been better had it been what I expected!).
I'm predicting 4.4 million viewers.
thought the pilot was pretty good, haven't seen Timothy in anything worth while since Damages and Deadwood. His performance in Justified was amazing. Hopefully the series does well, I quite enjoyed it. Also as Robert had stated in a previous article, I believe Justified will survive also, with Damages essentially over after this year, Nip/Tuck finished and Rescue Me heading into its last season, the prospects look good, barring a ratings crash.
I'm old school. I still have a VCR.
I'm an Elmore Leonard fan and the show was a lot of fun and much better than prior shows doing Leonard. I liked that it wasn't all dark and had a sense of humor. It's definitely got my interest. I hope it does well in the ratings. I'm still annoyed that any show I like has to do well with the 18-49 (and usually male) crowd to survive (unless it's on the CW). That's gotta change soon. Viva la revolution!
Really enjoyed the pilot, but we'll see how it fares when they go on to original scripts vs. the Leonard short story. Even so, looks like Walton Goggins may have a second memorable character – says a lot that by the end of the episode I saw Boyd Crowther, not Shane Vandrell..
Thought that was a good epsiode. I only watched because Timothy Olyphant was the steely-eyed sheriff on “Deadwood” and was playing what the promos showed as a modern version. To me “Deadwood” was one of the greatest TV series of all time. Liked “The Shield” too and seeing Walton Goggins, who I admit didn't know his name but did know his face, added to the show.
I think we need to wait and see if this will take or not, as this was promoted to death. I haven't seen it yet, either (DVR), but will give it at least a couple of episodes before deciding.
Justified was great last night. I don't know if its going to be as good as Sons of Anarchy but the premiere was that good.
Theres no way (barring misfortune to a star) this doesn't see a second season.
When people see the premiere they will watch at least 1 or 2 more.
More shows should have premiere episodes like this.
I'm hooked.
