The reality show being pitched by former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin with reality producer Mark Burnett has been passed on by all the major networks according to reports, but still has hope of finding a home on cable.

Variety's Michael Schneider earlier in the day reported that both A&E Networks (which includes, A&E, History and Lifetime) and Discovery (which includes Animal Planet and TLC) were interested.  But James Hibberd reports that Discovery has passed.

Schneider  reported that Palin is seeking around $1 million per episode.  Hibberd's report ups to between $1 million and $1.5 million and notes that's a hefty amount for a first year series.

    Oh. Please. No.

Wow, I just don't see her getting that much, that's an insane amount of money for a cable reality show isn't it? I'm personally not interested in watching anything involving this moron. But I'm sure that the people that watch FOX News will watch it. If Glen Beck can get a lot of viewers I'm sure this idiot can too.

  3. If I had cable, I'd cancel it.

who cares if you dont watch she be making millions if you watch or not and a lot of people loves sarah if you like it or not

wildj – Punctuation, capitalization and correct tense are appreciated, it makes your comments a lot easier to read.

As for Sarah – Can I call it a little bit of a victory that ALL the networks passed on this? And thank goodness Discovery did too. They've already decayed quite a bit with some of their reality programs. They certainly didn't need a “day in the life” of a grifter. $1 million per episode?!

Can't stand the woman myself, but she does seem to draw in the ratings when she is on talk shows. But that asking price seems awfully high. I'm surprised TLC didn't want her, it seems like they will put anyone on their channel, they probably would want her if she didn't have such a high asking price.

Because this is what presidential candidates do, of course.

  8. Stefan

Um… who would wanna watch her?! :D

Glad that she won't be on a network at least!

    U-BET-CHA <Wink>

Seriously a talk show is more respectable than a reality show. Is this what former presidential candidates and vice presidential candidates do now? Almost a disgrace to those offices wow. But if this keeps her from running for political office again, I'm all for it.

This reminds me of when Britney was so in demand that UPN thought it would be a great idea to make her life a reality show. It bombed, of course, because once you pull that veil away, you see their lives are relatively boring.

  12. Tommy

If I was running any of these networks I'd be worried that she'd quit half way through the 1st season.

  13. Julia

I don't think it was that her life was too boring for reality, it was just a total trainwreck.

Can't this woman just go away? She's a disgrace to Alaska and this country.

  15. the128boy

Its funny because as someone who agrees with some of what she says, I can't stand her. I feel like she is such a phony and doesn't practice what she preaches. However she is quite popular with a small but vocal crowd.

As far as tv presence goes, I find her mannerisms are really annoying. Can't imagine actually sitting through an hour of a “reality” show starring her.

  16. I'd watch 10 minutes of episode one (while wincing) just for the trainwreck value, but that would be about it.

She wants 1.5 million an episode? Haha…

  17. Lester's Fan

I'd tune in for an episode just to see Russia from her house!

  18. Craig_212

Glad to see that no one has taken her up on the deal so far.

  19. krawhitham

What is the show about? A real life struggling Alaskan woman that produces and sells meth in a desire to secure her family's financial future

  20. Trious

I actually hope she gets it so more of America can see what an utter moron she is
