Tiger Woods doesn't just boost PGA ratings, now he boosts South Park's ratings too.

The fourteenth season premiere of South Park was the king of cable television on Wednesday night, scoring over 3.7 million viewers and a 2.0 with adults 18-49, and perhaps more importantly for Comedy Central a whopping 4.3 rating with men 18-34.  It was the most-watched South Park season premiere since 1999.

  1. WOW! I am shocked by those numbers. Ugly Americans which aired afterwards got a huge boost because of South Park. Was the new show any good?

Real World is doing bad this season. It keeps dropping every episode. This season does suck. Andrew is the worst!!

Ugly Americans, the new show on after South Park, definitely wasn't good. It's a shame because I love Superjail and the people who do the Superjail animation did Ugly Americans. If the characters didn't talk, I probably would've loved it.

  4. Fin16

Hurray!!!!!!!!! Love South Park so much!

  5. cimmer

Ugly Americans lost a lot of those South Park numbers and I'm kind of surprised. It wasn't that great but over the half the audience didn't stick around to find out? Wow.

Ghost Hunters appears to be winding down as a series considering it was once the most watched show on Syfy for awhile.

  6. Julia

Since I'm now forced to watch Stewart and Colbert on their network sites, I've seen a lot of commercials for Ugly Americans. If they were running those same promos during South Park, I'm surprised as many people stuck around as did.

  7. Julia

Ah, that explains it. I can't stand Superjail, and knew something looked familiar about Ugly Americans.

  8. gallen39

Wow…I have not paid attn to The RW ratings in awhile! Have things been this bad all season!?!

  9. mastermoron

rob60990, Andrew is the only good thing about this season of the Real World. The other characters are all losers.

  10. I have not seen an episode of Ugly Americans. South Park has been a favorite of mine since it started.

  11. craigperk

Of course I like South Park, it's edgy and up to date hummer.

  12. marcelrochester

Hmm. And South Park was already the top scripted cable show with young men last year, I think this site posted a few months ago?

Esp impressive given how mediocre the ratings were for everything else not named American Idol.

  13. They should create animated version of Real World and call it Real World: Ugly Americans.

  14. kevx301

Robert, Comedy Central was actually so impressed with the ratings for South Park and Ugly Americans that they are airing repeats of them today at 10 and 10:30 and are bumping Demetri and Sarah to 12 and 12:30. Do you know if this is a one-time thing or are they going to just have a super late night schedule on Thursdays until those shows order counts run out?

  15. GloomShroom

The Ugly Americans pilot was a bit disappointing but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt since it was a pilot. Hard to do much more than introduce the premise in 29 minutes minus commercials.

  16. Based on the press release from comedy central it looks like it's probably just a one time thing. I'll go ahead and post the press release separately and let you decide for yourself.

  17. johnthemon

Wow at South Park, especially after last season's weak numbers. A 2.0 with 3.7 million viewers is an amazing skew.

  18. melbye

    Haha, South Park beats CW
