Leno Ahead of Letterman in Tuesday Preliminary Numbers

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night “The Tonight Show”  with a 3.2/8 (household rating/share) beat  “Late Show” and its 2.6/7.   ABC’s “Nightline had a 2.8/7 and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”  a 1.3/4 in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters with adults 18-49 “The Tonight Show” with a 1.2/5 beat out “Late Show” (0.8/4).   “Nightline” had  a 1.0/4  and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” a 0.6/3.

For Monday night in the later Fast Nationals Letterman beat out Leno even though Leno held the edge in these same early numbers, though the early numbers margin wasn’t as wide on Monday night (1.1 vs. 1.0) as it was on Tuesday.
