Updated: Charlie Sheen Leaving “Two and a Half Men?”
Just an April Fools hoax? Decide for yourself. People reports that Charlie Sheen will be departing the hit comedy Two and a Half Men after this season, leaving the show a man down.
Charlie’s just done,” says a set source. “And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”
Although sources say the network hoped the star would sign a new contract for an eighth season, Sheen recently turned down the offer. “He wants to move on,” says a friend of the actor, whose contract is fulfilled after he tapes this season’s 22nd episode. “Leaving is 100 percent his idea.”
I don’t know if it’s an April Fools thing but even if it isn’t, he’ll be back. I’m sure he’s spent. I’m also sure he’s happy to negotiate in public for more money. Either way, he’ll be back.
Update: Not an April Fools prank, but indeed, multiple sources report it’s just Sheen negotiating. TMZ says Sheen is looking for a healthy bump from the current $825,000 per episode he is pulling down, and is asking for $1.5 million per episode. According to TMZ Warner Bros. has already offered Sheen somewhere around $1 million per episode.
