V I understand, but why the loss for GW?
And now that the final numbers are in….
FlashForward Episode #6 – Scary Monsters and Super Creeps – 2.7/8, 8.916mil
V Episode #6 – Pound of Flesh – 2.4/7, 5.785mil
Just sayin'.
Wow, just wow at the viewers for 90210 and then Melrose Place. If there was ever any doubt Melrose Place is definitely not getting renewed.
Good for Loser maintaining a 3.
V is bleeding viewers faster than FlashForward did. I wonder if it'll hit a 2.0 in 2 or 3 episodes.
V sure does look ugly. I doubt it will drop much more, but maybe a tenth or two.
Ironically, V is getting better and more interesting by the episode.
The problem with V is been there done that. If you are going to remake, shake things up a bit. From what I've read, it's almost exactly the same as the original which was pretty darn good. No shocks or surprises just enhanced special effects. Surround the, with an original story and it might have worked.
You based your opinion of the show based on what you read?
It's actually completely different.
Not looking all that good at the moment for “V,” especially if it continues to drop- it performed better at 8 p.m. Tuesdays. ABC should switch it with “FlashForward” and see how it performs on Thursdays at 8.
So does this mean that CBS actually did beat ABC in the 18-49 demo? If Lost and NCIS cancel each other out and V and TGW cancel each other out, there's still that uptick for NCIS:LA to go in CBS's favor.
The Good Wife's move to Friday seems to be a certainty now more than ever. It's too weak for a non-Friday scripted program on CBS.
Figured V would have gone down, after the Lost overrun, seems like in another 2 weeks the series' fate will be known if it continues to lose viewers, as I have said before though, the post Lost slot seems like a death slot, Lost fans either change the channel or go internet blogging. Glad that Parenthood held, seems to continue to get better, and NBC most be happy with those numbers. For a 10 p.m show its actually getting better ratings then most NBC programs, but with a lot of pilots ordered, NBC has choices to make, blowup and revamp or slowly rebuild.
That seems awfully optimistic, 128boy. It drops .4 in a week (after previous drops of .3, .7, and 1.4) and you think it's going to suddenly stabilize? Eventually it almost has to, yes, but I don't think it's going to suddenly pull out of its current nosedive like that. And while I think Carol's prediction of 2.0 in two or three weeks may be a little harsh, I think that's much more realistic.
Me, personally? I think it will drop another .1 or .2 next week, then slowly seep after that. Like, .1 or .0 each week but a slow, steady loss in viewership before a late, painful cancellation. But I wouldn't be totally shocked to see it drop .1 or .2 each week from here on out (until a slight uptick for the finale), either.
I disagree. I think V still has a chance to find an audience and especially if it continues in the way it is going now. The last two episodes were really good and if they continue to write the episodes in this way, then eventually more people will start to watch.
I might be inclined to agree with you…IF it gets renewed for a second season. Why? Because otherwise, there's not much of a chance of new viewers jumping into it now and being able to keep up with a show that requires week to week viewing like V does. A small percentage may take the time to seek out old episodes and catch up, and an even smaller percentage may just jump in anyway and figure they'll follow along as best they can, but I don't think those small groups will be enough to counter the hemorrhaging of viewers that has gone on through the first six episodes. Now, if it gets renewed, I have no doubt folks will go out and buy the Season 1 DVDs or find other methods of catching up and tuning in for season 2 (before perhaps tuning out again?), but I think it will only pick up a noticeable number of new viewers if it gets renewed first, not the other way around. I could certainly be wrong, but I'm basing my belief on the history (including very recently) of other heavily serialized shows.
amazing the good wife gets 12 million but only a 2.3 demo? numbers dont mae sense to me
