NEW YORK, April 7, 2010 – HBO has acquired the U.S. TV rights to the documentary TEENAGE PAPARAZZO, directed by Adrian Grenier (HBO’s “Shot In The Dark”).  The film chronicles the true story of a relationship between 14-year-old paparazzo Austin Visschedyk and Grenier, star of the HBO series “Entourage.”  Inspired by a chance encounter with Visschedyk during a night out, Grenier decides to turn the cameras on him in an effort to document this unique teenager’s world.  But actor-director Grenier soon finds the project turning into a personal challenge, as he is forced to take responsibility for his influence on his subject’s life.  TEENAGE PAPARAZZO will debut on HBO this fall.

Ultimately, the film offers an intimate look at the paparazzi and the celebrity culture they serve, including the way it influences this particular teenager and his family.

An official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, TEENAGE PAPARAZZO features interviews with people who understand both the perks and consequences of media exposure, from psychologists and historians to celebrities (including Matt Damon, Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton, Alec Baldwin and Whoopi Goldberg), critics, fans, bloggers, publishers and tabloid writers.

TEENAGE PAPARAZZO is a Reckless Production in association with JLoar Productions and Bert Marcus Productions; produced and directed by Adrian Grenier; produced by Adrian Grenier and Matthew Cooke; executive producer, Sandlot Venture Group; producers, Bert Marcus, John Loar, Robin Garvick and Lynda Pribyl; associate producers, Kimberly Brook and John Divens; editor, Jim Mol; music supervisor, Janice Gingsberg; narrated by Adrian Grenier and Thomas De Zengotita.
