Note: the episode Charles Barkley hosted had a Saturday night NFL playoff game as its lead-in and the Jennifer Lopez episode had the Olympics as a lead-in .    That aside, in early metered market number (via NBC):

  • SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, hosted by Tina Fey and featuring musical guest Justin Bieber (5.7/14 in metered-market households) dominated the time period, delivering the #1 rating of the night in metered-market households ahead of all primetime telecasts on all the major networks.  In the 25 markets with local people meters, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE averaged a 3.3/14 in adults 18-49 and was the night’s #1 telecast.
  • This is the highest metered-market household rating for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE since the telecast of January 9 (6.5/18, hosted by Charles Barkley and featuring musical guest Alicia Keys) and the #2 SNL of the season.
  • This is the highest metered-market household rating for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE since the telecast of February 27 (6.3/15, hosted by Jennifer Lopez) and the #3 SNL of the season (behind the February 27 edition and the January 9 telecast, 7.7/19, hosted by Charles Barkley and featuring musical guest Alicia Keys).
  • Versus the same night last year, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE is up 12% in metered-market households (5.7 vs. 5.1).
