“Good Morning America” Posts Best Total Viewer and Demo Numbers in Two Months

“GMA” Extends its Demo and Total Viewing Advantages
Over CBS Week to Week and Year to Year
For the week of May 3, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.480 million Total Viewers and a 1.4/11 in Adults 25-54, the show’s best Total Viewer and Demo deliveries in two months. “GMA” experienced the most Adult 25-54 growth (+4%) week to week among the morning shows, and also grew 3% among Total Viewers.
Once again, “GMA” reduced NBC’s “Today” Demo lead by 4% week to week. This is the smallest weekly demo gap between the two programs since March. “GMA” also continues to reduce the Total Viewing gap with “Today,” cutting it by 11% compared to this week last year.
In addition, “GMA” expanded its demo (790,000) and Total Viewing (2,030,000) advantages over CBS’ “Early Show” week to week (A25-54: +16%; Total Viewers: +13%) and year to year (A25-54: +22% Total Viewers: +26%). This is the largest weekly demo gap between the two programs since the week of February 22.
“GMA” was the only morning program to maintain its total viewing audience versus last year. NBC (-3%) & CBS (-15%) both lost viewers.
The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
