The finale of Survivor: Heroes v. Villains and its reunion show lead CBS to the ratings win over "finale Sunday" for ABC's lineup.
The finale of Survivor: Heroes v. Villains scored a 4.2 adults 18-49 rating, that's down just 2% from last spring's finale, which is very good in broadcast television today. The 10pm Survivor reunion show pulled a 3.7 rating, which was down just 3% from last spring's reunion. That wraps a good ratings season for the show.
With ABC in "all finale" mode, it's shows were up vs. last week, but it's big shows were down vs. last season's finales. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was up 32% vs. last week to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Desperate Housewives was up 3% vs. last week to a 3.9 rating, but that was down 17% from last year's finale. While Brothers & Sisters was up 16% from last week to a 2.9 rating, that was down 3% vs. last year's finale.
Fox was up and down on the night. Simpsons was up 7% to a 2.9 rating, and The Cleveland Show was also up, 4%, to a 2.7 rating. While Family Guy was even with last week at a 3.8 rating, and American Dad was down 7% vs. last week with a 2.8 rating.
On NBC, the 2010 Miss USA Pageant's 1.4 adults 18-49 rating was even with last season. In broadcast, that's a win! While Celebrity Apprentice got hammered, down 21% from last week tieing a series low 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Survivor was great last night.So happy for Sandra.Too bad for Russell.I love the arguement between the both in the reunion show.
Too bad DH wasn't a tad higher, but I guess that's to be expected against Survivor.
And what in the blue hell was going on with the background today? Oh I just saw a banner ad talking about NBC's More Colorful so that must be it, but I almost had a heart attack when I clicked over here and saw random non-blue colors. Thought I had some strange virus or something.
Barely a 4.0 for Desperate Housewives season finale. Yikes! I expected better. It was a good finale. Extreme Makeover improved nicely. Not bad for the B&S finale.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, although they're obviously down, good for ABC's line-up for finally making some of a recovery.
B&S is only down 0.2 from last year's finale i think (had a 3.1 before), so that's pretty great; it's a done a good job of staying steady this season
not surprised about survivor still topping since it's been doing well all season.. but 3 hours? sheesh that's a long finale lol
is the celebrity apprentice finale against LOST next week? good luck with that NBC

Nice to see the ratings did really well! That was the greatest season ever. However, the winner was a bit of a let down. Really Sandra won?I couldn't remember anything she'd down done crazy except sneaking into everybody's conversation! She might be the winner but she's definitely not the most deserving to win. It should've been Parvati or Russell. The Heroes voted for Sandra showed how incompetent and bitter they were. Sandra didn't even vote with them to oust Russell. She kept on planning it yet at the end of the day she voted with the Villains. What a liar.
