Variety's Michael Schneider is reporting that Cold Case, Numb3rs, Miami Medical, Accidentally On Purpose, New Adventures Of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried and Ghost Whisperer have all been canceled by CBS.
The only one of those that's particularly surprising to me is Ghost Whisperer. I didn't expect two Fall Friday shows to be canceled.
While we await the 2010-11 CBS schedule (likely revealed tomorrow morning), it seems like they have decided to either scrap their "second comedy block" or start from scratch.
Also, will CBS banish two veteran dramas to Friday, or do like Fox, NBC and ABC and slate rookies there? Or might CBS put a reality (ahem, I mean "Alternative") show on Friday and break their scripted only block?

Well this pretty much confirms that there's vet dramas moving to Friday. Any guesses?
As I said in the Monday ratings post, I was not expecting the GW cancellation. I'm curious to see what happens on Friday now.
Yes! Great minds think alike.
If this is true that's a lot of heads rolling. I'll miss Old Christine and Accidentally on Purpose though.
WHAAAAAT? I thought the alrady renewed Ghost Whisperer and Medium! Is this some kind of joke?
With the number of comedies CBS reportedly picked up, I would guess they are starting again. And could we see both The Good Wife and CSI: NY on Friday? (I doubt it, but it would be an interesting choice.)
Looks like they cleaned house!
What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ghost Whisperer… WHY?????????????????????? CANCELLATION??????????????????????? EXPLAIN???????????????/
Holy macaroni! Not expecting to see GW to go; I was worried about Christine though. In all honesty, I could see Christine getting the 8:30 slot between the Middle and Modern Family and doing really well.
CBS didn't have enough failing shows and GW had lower numbers than most and lower sydnication value than Medium.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo NOT GHOST WHISPERER….. :'(
CBS is really stepping up to the plate this year! Taking chances… Eliminating dead weight… Planning for the future… BRAVO, CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never thought CBS's Schedule-unveilment would be the most exciting
NOOOOOOOO!! not ghost Whisperer!!! It wont get a proper ending now!!! Is there any chance abc will pick it up and put it as fridays at 8??!
The show I'll miss the most is Old Christine, but hey, I knew this was coming. Here's hoping Julia will get a new series for 2011-2012.
As for Ghost Whisperer – whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!? I never in a million years expected this to happen. So basically, the Friday night episode is also the SERIES finale? I can't believe it, not three months ago were they celebrating 100th episode and the ratings were still above 2.0 for the most part.
And HA! to all of you who thought that Gary actually had a better chance than Christine. Man, would I be pissed right now if Gary was renewed over Christine!
So I'm one for three for my bubblies – LTM renewed, Old Christine and Ghost Whisperer canceled.
So the biggest shock of the season isn't the cancellation of Law and Order anymore, it's GW's cancellation AND CBS choosing Medium over it. Goodbye, loyalty!
I have been saying it all week. CBS is the network to watch this week at the upfronts. That will be some amazing changes and schedule moves! I could see Medium getting sent to Sunday nights at 10 PM.
Sorry, wasnt there talk of Ghost Whisperer and ABC or something before…. I just need a tiny rope of hope … I am so VERY VERY disappointed….. The finale is this coming friday, I hope they wrap things up or I'll be very very mad!!
Canceling fails isn't really risky.
I am somewhat surprised about Ghost's cancellation over Medium, though I do think maybe the 2 were too similar. Different studios?
Not one of these shows was very good, and they all had low ratings. So… good job, CBS!
Ghost Whisperer is the only semi-surprise, and the numbers were no longer great by any means.
What are the odds that out of all the schedules coming out, Fridays on CBS are the biggest mystery?
Personally, I am expecting Good Wife, Medium, and then something new. Maybe Defenders?
