Both Life Unexpected and One Tree Hill have been renewed by the CW. They have also picked up Nikita and Hellcats. Their schedule will be released no later than Thursday.

I would be remiss in noting that Robert thought they'd both be back, while I guessed only one would be. ;)

Also, for anyone still suffering from the delirium that Melrose Place would not be canceled, this is it, it's officially canceled and buried.

Here is the official press release:

  6. rob60990

So Melrose Place is officially gone then? How sad!

  7. Yay! LUX stays!

  8. Centauri

Thank god they renewed both to avoid a CW-pocalypse. Lux and OTH fans were really going at each other on forums and what not.

  9. Dave_UK_TVBTN

I'd have to agree with you about Nikita.

  10. tariqq

nooo Betwixt / Changelings needs to be picked up pleaseeeee

  11. elie_r

I am very glad that the season finale of OTH was not it's series finale! that would have been depressing! Hopefully they can wrap it up nicely next season.

I am not looking forward to the Nikita remake though. The original was such a classic and while it wasn't always consistent in the quality of the scripts, the acting was flawless and made the series perfect. No way can the intensity of the original can be rendered well by a show on the CW.

  13. Julia

Is this the sum total of CW pickups? If so, they won't have much of anything for midseason and may have a repeat of this season.

  14. olegas

What? CW only picked up 2 new shows? WEIRD.

  15. olegas

And what about their new genre show whose name I just forget?

  16. Finally! So relieved they picked up Lux.:) This is just some of the announcements, right? What happened to Betwixt???

  17. Cody456

The CW needed to keep most shows and add more in order to fill the season and not have 4 month hiatus of repeats

  18. Julia

So is this the post that's killing the site? I keep getting unable to serve your request errors.

  19. Lisa

Great! I was hoping both OTH and LU would come back. The two new shows also sound reasonably interesting. It's almost as if the CW had read my mind about what they should do. ;) Everything I like is coming back for another season, and I don't hate anything on their schedule.

  20. othlost

I'm so excited that One Tree Hill is renewed and also glad that lux was given a second chance for some growth next year!!!! Thank you CW for making some smart choices and giving loyal fans what they really wanted!!! Hopefully the CW can grow next year I've heard good things about Betwixt and NIkita on zap2it.com as one of the top ten pilots to look out for in the fall.. Hellcats doesn't look to bad either!! I hope both oth and lux get a full season because their seasonal overall ratings are better than 90210 and gossip girl!!!
