Summer, summer, summer! A great time of year, if not a bit of a a yawn and stretch period here at TV by the Numbers. Sure, summer premieres and burnoff lack the oomph of the fall premieres on the broadcast networks, but some of cable's finest strut their stuff in the summer.
When I scan the list below I don't see much on the broadcast networks I'll be adding to my DVR, but throw in the cable shows and my TV viewing won't be taking much of a break. And that's not even counting 80 episodes ofand a gazillion episodes of Law & Order that I hope to catch up on via Netflix.
While I'm sure interest in the ratings forand will remain sort of strong for us over the summer, not to mention new shows like , I'm looking for Betty White and TV Land's to be our summertime Chuck! All Betty White, all the time. Betty White fans, you can make it happen!
Below is a list of the summer premiere/return dates. I'm sure I missed a few, and more than a few when it comes to unscripted content on cable. But if I missed any scripted series premieres/returns, or you spot any errors, please let me know.
