NHL Stanley Cup Finals Game 6 Up 25% vs. Last Year in Preliminary Overnight Ratings

UPDATE: Moments after I posted this, NBC put out its press release with overnight ratings from the entire game (8:15-11:15pm), not just the primetime portion.

While these preliminary ratings for live events are subject to significant revision in the final ratings, the Chicago Blackhawks clinching Game 6 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers scored a 5.5 household rating / 9 share for the primetime portion from 8-11pm in the metered markets up 25% compared to the 4.4 household rating / 7 share for the comparable primetime portion of Game 6 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.
