Comcast & NBCU get their payoff from their mid-season cancellation of  The Jay Leno Show:

After some tough negotiating over key points with Comcast in Philadelphia, the NBC affiliates have issued a thumbs-up on the pending Comcast-NBC merger, in the form of a letter the affiliates association will file June 21.

One can only imagine what the consequences will be for the affiliates once Comcast is in charge. Unlikely their mid-season extortion will be forgotten.
