Day 7 Matches Propel Record Breaking Traffic Across Online and Mobile
NEW YORK, NY – June 18, 2010 –Univision Interactive Media’s comprehensive coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ has generated 108 million total page views and 14 million visits across all interactive platforms for the tournament-to-date. Engagement with UnivisionFutbol.com’s offering has skyrocketed to unprecedented levels throughout the tournament. Live streaming, extensive match coverage and commentary have generated 2.5 million hours of video to date. During the live matches, daily video consumption has increased to an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes and daily unique streams have grown to over a quarter million.
Univision Interactive Media has set record traffic every day since the start of the World Cup across the board – site wide on Univision.com, on UnivisionFutbol.com, during live video streaming, and across mobile offerings. In fact, traffic levels more than doubled that of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™.
Day seven’s electrifying matches boosted the site to its best streaming day to date, with over 410,000 unique media players streaming the matches live. Simultaneous streams peaked at nearly 200,000 streams during the stellar match between Mexico and France.
Univision Fútbol’s mobile offerings have also set multiple records. Over 24.5 million page views and more than 5 million visits have been served on mobile platforms since the tournament began. Day seven was the #1 day of the tournament for visits, with nearly 1 million visits generated.
