“GMA” is the Only Morning Show to Increase Both Adult 25-54 Demo and Total Viewers Year to Year

“GMA” Cuts Both Demo Gap with NBC Week to Week and Year to Year,

and Cuts Total Viewing Gap Year to Year – Smallest Demo Gap Since December

“GMA” Extends Both Demo and Total Viewing Advantages Over CBS Year to Year

For the week of June 14, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.010 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/10 among Adults 25-54.

“GMA” was the only morning program to increase its Adult 25-54 audience year to year (+30,000), and, once again, was the only morning program to experience Total Viewer growth year to year (+320,000). Both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “Early Show” declined year to year in the Adult 25 54 Demo and in Total Viewers, with NBC losing 40,000 Adults 25 54 and CBS losing 50,000 Adults 25 54.

“GMA” continues to reduce “Today’s” Demo lead, shrinking the gap 7% week to week and 11% year to year. “GMA” also shrank “Today’s” Total Viewing lead by 29% year to year. This is the fourth straight week ABC has shrunk NBC’s weekly demo lead, and it’s the smallest gap since New Year’s week (week of 12/28/09).

In addition, “GMA’s” Adult 25 54 lead (690,000) over the “Early Show” was +13% larger year to year. ABC expanded its Total Viewing advantage (1,670,000) over CBS by +25% year to year.

The Emmy Award winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00 9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
