The 2.0 adults 18-49 rating for the premiere of ABC's Rookie Blue may not seem like much, but by the standards of this summer's new scripted shows, it's a blockbuster. The 1.3 rating for the premiere of documentary Boston Med was more typical of the poor ratings so far for summer premieres.
As usual during this "summer of serious", it was unscripted reality and CBS repeats topping the hours.
Wipeout's 2.6 adults 18-49 rating was down 16% from Tuesday's premiere, but there aren't any Thursday comparables yet.
Without competition from the NBA Finals game 7, Fox's So You Think You Can Dance bounced back 5% to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.
Kobe or not, NBC's 100 Questions got no help, slipping a tenth of a point to a 0.6 rating.
Note that the ratings below are for the entire show(s) not half hour segments, like my typical overnight posts.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

any word on Syfy's Phantom yet?
It seems to me that Univision has been doing somewhat well lately…but that's beside the point.
Good for Rookie Blue!! I did not think the show was going to be good but still gave it a try. But the show was great! i cant wait to see future episodes of the show!
Rookie Blue was terrible, terrible, terrible. Predictable and bland. It should set ratings records…
Univision won the night in 18-34. lol
Univision won the night in 18-34. lol
Boston Med is a documentary series rather than a scripted show right? I didn't actually watch though.
Boston Med was scripted? I only watched the sneak on ABC.com, but it looked to me like the medical version of Cops.
It's not so much that Univision does lots better in the summer than otherwise, but that they stay pretty even with their performance the rest of the year, while the rest of the broadcast competition's ratings fall.
You're right, my mistake, fixed.
Bill – any chance of getting the second half hour numbers ( 9:30 – 10:00 )
for Rookie Blue ? Thanks !
Ratings above are for the entire show(s) (I know that's unusual for my posts, but data arrived out of the typical order for us today).
The Rookie Blue half hour 18-49 split was 2.0/1.9.
which means itll be a 1.9 in finals, because every ABC drama tends to go down in finals
bummed that no one seems interested in Boston Med. That was riveting TV.Really highlights teh doctors and nurses who do such heroic work too.
That generalization may not apply here. Lots of the changes in the finals for ABC shows are due to the fact that they schedule and extra minute or two from the earlier (and usually stronger) show to run over into the hour of the later shows, but last night all the shows were 60 minutes.
Unfortunately, the TV audience in America has little interest in real life heroes.
I hope Rookie Blue continues to get at least decent numbers. Gregory Smith is such a talent from Everwood, and it's great to seem him on t.v. every week.
Thanks Bill … I was expecting more of a drop off but, obviously, not the case !
HAHAHA….Univision is killing NBC and The CW….You should put the shows that are on at that point in your schedule….that way we see what's beating NBC at the slot….although it's not competing against the directly…I would still like to find out though. HAHA.
NBC should give it's Thursday night line-up the night off–they do horrible in reruns.
