The Bachelorette was scheduled to run until 10:02pm, and True Beauty was scheduled to run from 10:02-11pm, increasing the likelihood that both will be adjusted in the final ratings.

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2010 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.
Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

All the hype with the Jake/Vienna confrontation and the Bachelorette went down? Could be because yesterday was considered a holiday which I dont know why.
Not that it really matters, but those are some bad repeat numbers for Gossip Girl.
It must have cost the CW $$ just to be on last night. Probably better off just hitting the switch and going dark
BBT beat 2.5 Men in both statistics last night. I really wonder if BBT audience will move with it in the Fall. From the few snippets of Molly and Me I have seen aired, I just do not see it being successful in the 9:30 slot
Many businesses close on federal holidays, to avoid paying time-and-a-half.
As the last night of a three day weekend for most people, it doesn't surprise me that the shows were down.
“Persons Unknown”, “Kings”, and “Life On Mars”, now that would be a Saturday night..
*yawn*
Ah, the summer doldrums.
Pretty soon The CW repeats will be down to Party Down levels. *snicker*
Any legitimate hypothesis out there as to the Persons Unknown constantly plummeting weekly rating? I personally love the show, but that's just one man. Isn't anyone else out there interested, intrigued, or entertained by it? This is the best summer show I've seen in 3 years. I'm just glad they had it planned as a one-season mini-series.
I'd blame it on the cast myself. Decent story, but you've got no real recognizable talent involved. Plus, none of the characters are very likable either. I'm watching it, but I'm not really rooting for anyone to survive either.
Probably because NBC did a horrible job promoting any scripted summer shows. I don't watch this, but loved 100 Questions. As bad as their ratings are, it is on par with the rest of the thursday night lineup. And this show has already been moved.
No one was at home watching TV because most people were traveling from 4th of July events.
I agree with Jon's comments on the cast. I'd also say that the characters are, for the most part, not very smart as well as not terribly likable (with exceptions – the Marine is not a bad guy). Now that they've killed off Tori, Janet is the only babe left. The only guy who seemed cool turns out to be part of the conspiracy, although he appears to be rebelling over Janet.
The extent of the conspiracy is unclear – they seem to have cameras almost literally everywhere. Whether that's just a commentary on the spreading of public camera surveillance or whether its some sort of Prisoner “Village” metaphor is unclear. And that's part of the problem – the whole show is “unclear”. Things happen for no apparent reason, with vague allusions as to a “process” and an “outcome” but otherwise the entire situation is muddled without being particularly intense.
The show is doomed.
I was expecting higher numbers for The Bachelorette given the Jake/Vienna hype but I guess the viewers are already over these two famewh0res.
I wonder if or when will CBS start airing repeats of TBBT on Thursday, I think they should start doing that so that the viewers will be accustomed to it's new timeslot although if CBS does that what will be it's companion? 2.5 Men repeats? or back to back TBBT episodes? If they still have OId Christine they could have use its repeats as placeholder for the 8:30 repeat slot this summer.
Nah, networks don't repeat shows they've already canceled. I doubt we'll ever see Old Christine on CBS again. Probably Two and a Half Men. And yeah, I agree, they have to start airing TBBT there ASAP.
Well they still air Cold Case repeats although CBS owns that show unlike Old Christine. I just realized if CBS starts airing TBBT repeats on Thursdays then what show will take the Monday 9:30 slot? Hmm.. I suggest CBS to do back to back episodes of HIMYM from 8-9 and 2.5 Men from 9-10 pm since 2.5 Men repeats does well anyway, then have the ROE repeats on Thursdays at 8:30, since well the show has always been a placeholder. But the bottomline is they really should start airing TBBT repeats on it's upcoming timeslot and I'm curious how its repeats will do.
I really can't see them doing worse than the 1.0 that Mentalist repeats are getting.
I stand corrected: they rarely repeat canceled shows.
However, I still don't see them repeating Christine or any of their old comedies; they were just so awful the first time around. I like your idea about doubling up, though. But for some reason, those RoE repeats are doing very well. Even better than the HIMYM repeats. That, to me, is the number one story of the summer.
I'm intrigued, a little. I keep watching mostly because I'm invested and I want to see what happens.
However – the acting is pretty weak and some of the story is pretty out there. Hard to buy into the fact that these people so quickly bonded and accepted the situation. They all just go eat at the restaurant and interact with the bellhop, etc.
I hear ya there Cujo. This is turning into an addiction for me. Love this show. However, Persons Unknown belongs on either cable or a smaller network. NBC knew what it was getting, a la Harper's Island, when it snatched the show from SyFy. So they only have themselves to blame.
When will the nets learn? Putting scripted serialized GENRE shows on a major BROADcast network is like putting a kitten in the middle of heavy traffic. There's no way that doesn't end UGLY.
