If you've been living in the USA in the past week, its no surprise that the hubub over LeBron James' "The Decision" produced the biggest cable ratings on Thursday night.
But it wasn't all media circus on cable, Bethenny Getting Married leapt up from last week's 1.720 million viewers and 0.9 adults 18-49 ratings to 2.259 million and a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.
Futurama's post-premiere outing held up quite well, down fractionally in average viewership, and a tenth of a point in adults 18-49 ratings vs. last week.

Yay, more ego-tripping for our sportsmen! *snore*
NBC should look into making “The Decision” into a series of specials. They would love those type of ratings come Fall.
Would it be too much to hope now that Bethenny now that she has indeed gotten married, will go away? Bravo is plastering the housewives all over that channel. Will they kill the franchise? Let's see how D.C. does. Not that I will watch it except to see the White House gate crashing episode.
Good ratings for Futurama
Don't tell me they got cameraman with them into White House.
Seeing as how I just saw a promotion on my local NBC station for “The Real Housewives” 5 days a week, it's safe to say that the franchise isn't going away any time soon.
I believe the events leading up to and the aftermath.
Coincidence Bravo's Top Chef is in DC as well. We think not !!!
Not sure how new this news is I think it is from today. NBA commissioner David Stern called LeBron James' televised decision “ill advised”. Hopefully that will discourage the trend.
” Hopefully that will discourage the trend.”
It won't discourage ESPN, The Decision was its third most viewed non-NFL broadcast ever.
No but if the league and owners send out a message they frown upon it. Then it won't become a trend for athletes to “kiss off” a team in such a manner. Plus didn't all the money from commercial revenue goes to Boys Clubs of America or am I being naive.
ESPN didn't get any ad revenue from the show, correct.
The ad revenue, but apparently LeBron basically rented the time from ESPN. There was money made here, and not just for charity.
Im more concerned with the atheletes that kill people while driving drunk(stallworth),get 20 year old girls drunk at bars and takes advantage of them in bathrooms(rothelisberger),players getting killed by their 19 yr old mistress's while being married(Mcnair),idiots shooting themselve with loaded guns in PUBLIC places(burress), and countless other incidents than this guy giving a 1 hour interview.Geez people get a grip !!
I certainly agree with you 100%, with your off topic assessment of athletes behavior off the court/fields. But LeBron was the ratings leader and photo lead of this post. “Get a grip !!” strikes me as an overly strong reaction to a simple opinion that we not have a trend of televising these “decisions”.
Have a nice day
Go Celtics!!!!!! (or by default Go Heat !!!! to stop the Lakers from overtaking Boston in record NBA Championships).
Boston/New England home to more NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB finals participating teams in the first decade of the 21st century than any other part of the country.
