"GMA" Cuts Both Demo and Total Viewing Gaps with NBC Year to Year and Week to Week

"GMA" Extends Demo and Total Viewing Advantages Over CBS Year to Year

For the week of July 5, 2010, ABC's "Good Morning America" averaged 3.92 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/11 among Adults 25 54. Among key demo viewers, "GMA" posted its best delivery in a month.

Week to week, "GMA" experienced the most Total Viewer growth (+40,000) of all three morning broadcasts and also posted gains among key demo viewers (+20,000). NBC's "Today," meanwhile, shed 100,000 Total Viewers and 30,000 Adults 25 54 versus the prior week.

"GMA" continues to reduce the viewing gaps with "Today," both week to week and year to year. Compared to the previous week, "GMA" shrank the Total Viewing gap with NBC by 16% and the Adult 25 54 gap by 11%. Year to year, the gaps were 12% and 2% smaller, respectively.

In addition, "GMA's" viewing lead over CBS' "Early Show" was 12% larger among Total Viewers and 5% greater among Adults 25 54 year to year.

Compared to this week last year, "GMA" grew the most of any morning broadcast, increasing 3% among Total Viewers and 1% in the key demo.

The Emmy Award winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC's "Good Morning America."

Please note: Due to the July 4th holiday, all three programs were coded specials on Monday, July 5 and were excluded from the average. The weekly averages for all three programs are based on four days (Tuesday Friday). Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos were off on Monday, July 5.
