ESPN and the Big 12 Conference have announced ESPN’s Big Monday Presented by Bud Light Big 12 men’s college basketball schedule for the 2011 season. Action will tip off with two games on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, January 17: Kansas State at Missouri at 5:30 p.m. and Kansas at Baylor at 9:30 p.m. All four teams participated in last year’s men’s NCAA Tournament, with Baylor and Kansas State advancing to the Elite Eight.
The popular weekly series -- featuring a doubleheader with the BIG EAST Conference -- will then air every Monday during conference play at 9 p.m. from January 24 to February 28 and highlight the nation’s top teams in action. Highlights:
- Baylor will follow its Martin Luther King Jr. Day appearance with a game at Kansas State January 24. Baylor defeated Kansas State 76-74 last year in Waco.
- Kansas will visit intrastate rival Kansas State February 14 in a continuation of the longest-running series between two conference squads.
- Oklahoma State will visit Kansas February 21. Oklahoma State handed Kansas its only regular-season Big 12 loss last season with an 85-77 victory.
