Will 'Human Target' Weather 'The Dollhouse Treatment' Better Than 'Dollhouse?'

In a Comic-Con panel moderated by our friend James Hibberd, new Human Target showrunner Matthew Miller weighed-in on the Friday night timeslot.

Miller also talked about the show's move to Friday nights, a night that's been very difficult for recent Fox genre shows.

“It’s not always the best time slot, but ‘The X-Files’ did well on Friday nights,”  Miller said of “Human Target’s” move during its hour in the spotlight at Comic-Con.

I'm not sure I'd classify Human Target as a "genre show" but if I were Miller and had been dealt a similar hand, I too might play "The X-Files" card and hope for the best.  Of course, lots of scripted shows used to do well on Fridays for the broadcast networks.   The "X-File's" best years ratings-wise were 1997-1999, a bygone era of broadcast network television.

Human Target will not be alone among scripted Friday shows on the broadcast nets this fall.  It will be one of nine joining The Good Guys (FOX), Body Of Proof (ABC), Smallville (CW), Supernatural (CW), Medium (CBS), CSI: NY (CBS), Blue Bloods (CBS), and Outlaw (NBC).

How many of those shows will still be on the schedule in March?  I'd count on at least 4 (both CW shows + Medium & CSI: NY) but am not sure I'd wager even a lunch that a 5th will make it.
