Sunday Cable Ratings: ‘The Glades Rises;’ ‘True Blood‘ Hits a 3.0 Adults 18-49 Rating & Much More

The Glades popped back over 3 million viewers and up to a 0.8 with adults 18-49, which I'm sure will make fans of the show happy.

The big story to me though is that HBO's True Blood was the highest-rated show of the week, on broadcast or cable with adults 18-49.   Snooki may have beaten Sookie with total viewers, but Sookie won with adults 18-49.

Since HBO doesn't sell advertising I may be one of only five people who cares, but I still think it's remarkable that although HBO is only in around 32 million homes (compared to well over 100 million for the broadcast networks) it still had the highest-rated show of the week with adults 18-49.

True Blood is awesome. This week was no exception…

  2. Julia

Rubicon may have been AMC's most watched premiere ever, but I can't imagine those demos are what they were hoping for.

  3. I've taken a little break from True Blood, because I haven't been enjoying the show that much this season. But good to see the ratings went up.

  4. I'm surprised how poorly Hung is able to keep it's lead-in audience. I think this weeks episode was one of the stronger ones of the series. I wonder how much worse it would be if it was after Entourage instead of before. But like the article says, it's HBO so it really doesn't matter.

And it looks like Ochocinco and T.O. tanked…good

Bill dying, no wait Sookie dying. Can't wait for more.

  6. I mean to mention “Rubicon's” 18-49 were MIA, but then I got distracted by True Blood being the highest-rated show of the week. Damn you, short attention span…

    RUBICON

The presumingly much previously viewed 8pm episode is the same in the demo as the new 9pm episode, but in total viewers it seems 5% bailed rather than stay around for more. Is that a sign for concern? It is a crowed time slot with Vampires, and Divas, and Truckers (Oh My !!!) but I wonder if AMC would have expected more from the 9pm rather than from 8pm. I guess there is no real trend until next week.

    Congrats to True Blood!

Us young folks love our fangs and werewolves! Joe Manganiello, anyone? Whew!

  9. Good news about The Glades going up. Really enjoy this show alot and want to see A&E renew it .. Love the Jim and Callie relationship and think Jim and Carlos is hysterically funny. The meddling MIL has to go though eventually but adore Jeff who acts like a real kid !!

  10. RPD

I'd hate to have to choose. Good thing I DVR everything…

  11. starlight_zero

best ever for hbo in the demo?

  12. Wow Sunday nights are getting very competitive this summer. Leverage looks like it is holding up well. Unscripted competition seems to be stable or up slightly. Food Network Star is getting good numbers near the end of its season and I'm intrigued at how well Top Shot is doing with virtually no buzz in the press and not much promotion from History channel. The lead in Ice Road Truckers must really help.

  13. truebloodlover27

YahOo!!! Congrats True Blood, You amaze me everyweek…SO thankful to be able to watch this amazing show, Season 3 is the best yet!!!

  14. Momonja

Eva Longaria's appearance definitely boosted The Next Food Network Star's ratings. She is one of the most elegant and gorgeous looking stars right now. Too bad I don't watch DH, not my type of show.

  15. ap076

I watch both jane so and thankfully I don't have to choose. I do wonder if HBO is in more households than Showtime is though?

  16. Julia

I doubt it. Once upon a time, HBO had shows that could occasionally pull over 10 mil viewers.

  17. RyanCanada

oh yea, this season is by far matching season 1! just on your feet extreme crazyness lol….

  18. janedoesays

Best idea since the phone. I would miss half of the shows I watch.

  19. janedoesays

I think it is. I wouldn't quote me on that. I have a friend who only orders HBO when True is on then cancels.

  20. Julia

Last time it was reported, in December, HBO was in just under 32 mil homes, Showtime in just over 22 mil homes.
