“Martha Stewart Presents: The Women Who Dress America,” a Hallmark Channel Original Special, will premiere Sunday, September 19 (9 p.m. ET/PT, 8c). The one-hour interview special with host Martha Stewart will celebrate fashion icons Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Tory Burch and Jenna Lyons. This is the debut of several interview specials with Martha Stewart in thought-provoking conversations with some of the world’s most interesting people. A second “Martha Stewart Presents” primetime special is scheduled for November.
Timed to coincide with the close of New York’s Fashion Week, “Martha Stewart Presents: The Women Who Dress America,” features Martha Stewart as she goes one-on-one with creative visionaries and headline makers in the world of fashion. The entertainment maven and tastemaker, who has an enormous personal respect for the artisans and innovators who put their visions on the runway, gets up close and personal with four revered American fashion designers about what makes them tick: their passions, their ideals and the trends they favor for the seasons ahead.
The designers include Diane von Furstenberg, who grew into a designing legend after taking the industry by storm with her signature wrap dress in 1974; Tory Burch, a Martha favorite whose luxurious, versatile clothing lines transcend generations and are found in the closets of everyone from soccer moms to socialites; Jenna Lyons, whose ascension at J. Crew is a testament to this newly-named president and former creative director’s influence on the retailer’s runaway success story; and Donna Karan, one of the most successful and talented designers of our time. Throughout the special, Martha engages these four quintessential, fashion legends in an intimate setting, digging beneath the surface to uncover each woman’s essence and sources of inspiration.
