HBO Co-President Eric Kessler told Bloomberg in an interview that HBO was unlikely to do a deal with Netflix that would allow Netflix to stream HBO's content online.
“There is value in exclusivity,” Kessler said in an interview. Consumers “are willing to pay a premium for high quality, exclusive content,” he said.
Instead HBO plans to make its content available online though its own service "HBO Go" that will be free to existing subscribers and should be available on all major cable systems within six months. Plans also call for apps for the iPad and mobile devices.
