I’m glad that both shows got such great ratings for their premieres. I love both shows, especially Weeds. I hope that Weeds continues for many more years to come.
now, how long until showtime announces that both have been picked up for another season?
If the over under is 8 days, I’d at least think about the under.
I think you’re right, I wouldn’t be surprised if we heard about a second season for The Big C by the end of the week.
Is Weeds going to continue after this season? I think Mary Louise Parker’s contract is up after this year and she’s talked about leaving. Probably a money thing, but even though these numbers are good for Showtime, how much can you throw at someone who stars in a show watched by 1.3 million people?
There was some promotional stuff that indicated that this would be the final season of Weeds, but that may not have been a final decision. I do hope that they end it before it goes on too long. I still love the show, but I know enough people who think it’s already gone on too long that it seems like this would be the perfect final season.
I love weeds!!! and the big c is good, great characters
The creator of Weeds, says she always visioned the show being 7 seasons long, so Im sure there will be at least 1 more season.
At a Comic Con panel Thursday celebrating Showtime’s critically beloved shows, the show runner for Weeds addressed the dramedy’s future going forward. When a convention-goer asked whether the coming season that begins Aug. 16 will be the show’s last, executive producer Victoria Morrow paused and then gave a very simple answer: “No.”
I just loved The Big C and think that Laura Linney deserves a show like this. I am looking forward to the next episode. Lets hope the ratings stay up.
Laura Linney is a lock for Emmy nomination next year and possibly a win
How many seasons does it have, 7, 8? I thought I saw that somewhere one day.
I know I might sound unpopular, but I don’t think The Big C will mantain these numbers. They will be good however (for SHO standard) since “Weeds” will take viewers in and at this point is unlikely people will bail out on it. But if “weeds” started to bleed viewers, the ratings for “The Big C” would tank.
hello
Mary Louise Parker has done an interview stating that she’s on the ride for Weeds no matter how long it goes on for. she’s in it for the “long haul”

Yay! Weeds is still doing good. I don’t know why I was worried.
I really liked The Big C. It’s very relaxing and happy, especially after watching an episode of Weeds.
Great ratings for both shows.
Love that they are drinking Layer Cake wine!! Awesome wine!!
