Michael Phelps Leads U.S. Swim Team at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships This Weekend on NBC Sports

Olympians Natalie Coughlin, Ryan Lochte and Rebecca Soni join Phelps for Team USA
NEW YORK – August 19, 2010 – Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in U.S. history, leads Team USA as NBC Sports presents three hours of taped coverage of the Pan Pacific Championships this weekend, Saturday 2-4 p.m. ET and Sunday 3-4 p.m. ET. The strong U.S. team will be led by a total of 27 Olympians during the five-day competition, highlighted by Natalie Coughlin, Ryan Lochte, Aaron Peirsol and Rebecca Soni.
The Pan Pacific Championships, which take place once every four years, features a strong field of competitors from the U.S., Japan, Australia, Canada and more than 20 other countries. NBC’s Olympic swimming broadcast team of Ted Robinson (play-by-play), and Rowdy Gaines (analyst) call the action, with reporter Alex Flanagan on the deck providing interviews and information throughout the event.
This year’s Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships will be held at William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine, Calif. The outdoor venue has been the site for several USA Swimming National Championships, including the 2005 Duel in the Pool (USA vs. Australia), and most recently the 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships.

NBC Sports presents taped coverage of the Diamond League Track and Field this Sunday from Zürich, Switzerland.
Thirteen current world leaders, eight reigning world champions, eight reigning Olympic champions, and 16 newly-crowned European champions traveled to Zurich to compete in the inaugural Diamond League.
Paul Sunderland, Ato Boldon, Lewis Johnson, and Dwight Stones will provide commentary.
