Okay, you guys didn’t like my Grayson quote regarding Fox (surprise, surprise). Here’s another one for you …

“How are these extreme voices on talk radio and primetime cable not called out for their lies?” — Joe Scarborough

  2. I think Seal sums it up best ….. “We’re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy.” That one area both sides meet.

  3. Xenodias

Wow, Ed Show with Cenk filling in nearly reached Maddow’s ratings in prime time three hours later. Even Chris Matthews was beat by the Ed Show in all categories. Ratings weren’t so hot to start the week but it seems he has been red hot and gaining the past couple of days. Now I’m really curious how his final show guest hosting on Friday will do.

  4. Rod

    BOSS !

We all thought you had creeped off to your rock !

Glad to have my favorite pin cushion back !

Are you talking about Joe Scarborough with 325.000 viewers ? That Joe Scarborough ?

This blog site is for discussing ratings that matter !

A highway billboard on an interstate delivers more viewers and uses less electric.

Please BOSS show some originality and aptness of thought !

You are a modest man and you have a lot to be modest about !

Because people on the right don’t lie, extreme right yeah they do but even those on the extreme right get called out, don’t you watch msnbc. And Alan Grayson is a dirtbag who runs away from FOX NEWS because they might ask tough questions, thats why he’s on msnbc playing t-ball.

Indeed! Ed Show ratings EXTREMELY impressive! Ed’s fill-in had well OVER ONE-THIRD the viewership of Special Report with Brit Baier!

  7. Anonymous

Who died and made Joe Scarborough a relevant commentator? Even if he was referring to his colleagues on MSNBC, he doesn’t matter.

  8. Anonymous

Maybe MSNBC should consider giving the Young Turks a show at 5 pm. Have Chris Matthews Show be live at 7 pm.

  9. Indeed! Ed Show ratings EXTREMELY impressive! Ed’s fill-in had well OVER ONE-THIRD the viewership of Special Report with Brit Baier!

Now, Ayn Rand had well OVER ONE-THIRD the dong of her putative marriage, right?

Not to suggest that “objectivism” is a philosophy for natural-born cuckolds or anything.

  10. Some people just need a strong female or quasi-female figure, kwim? For hairstyles and stuff.

Wow, first you post a quote from perhaps the looniest individual currently taking up space in congress, you know, the guy who also thinks Bush “Let 1/11 happen.” and thenyou follow up with a post from an irrelevant ersatz “conservative” who has as many viweres as a test pattern.

Are you feeling OK, Boo? You’re off your usually sharp game. :)

How about quoting Olbermann “apologizing” for going “over the top” in attacking O’Reilly?

I think Olby’s going to have to get used to the millon or less viewers until he goes back on hisd meds.

Yeah, that Joe Scarborough … the one who is a conservative Republican. The conservative Republican who has the integrity to call out Fox for their lies….

Got it, Rod? Or do you want me to spell it out for you. Yes, … J.O.E. S.C.A.R.B.O.R.O.U.G.H.

O captain, my captain … I laugh at all the righties who are afraid to appear on MSNBC (Palin, Gingrich, Bachman). But, most of all, I laugh at how Sharon Angle puts her tail between her legs and runs away from any media (except Fox, of course. On that network, she can peddle her dot.com and ask for money. And, of course, Fox will certainly oblige her!). Pathetic.

Oh, by-the-way, I thought Michael Smerconish did terrific in filling in for Chris Matthews this week on Hardball. I’d love for him to get a show on MSNBC. He’s a common-sense, middle-of-the-road commentator. They are much in need on cable news these days…

  15. Anonymous

True- he could be the Dick Morris of MSNBC! Smerconish is an intersting cat, but he would likely be another pro-Obama guy in a sea of Obama love.

As far as Repubs on MSNBC – If I were a Republican, I wouldn’t see the point of wasting time on a network that has about .02% of my target audience on it, and where the “anchors” will likely conduct the equivalent of a hostile cross-examination, then make jokes about me later. CNN and Fox, along with local affils. are time better spent for them.

I want to know what happened to the real objective journalists that used to investigate the little things… you know, like Watergate? What happened to the fourth estate being a check on the powerful in D.C.? Nobody on MSNBC or CNN fits that bill, anymore, and Geraldo is a joke, so who is the heir apparent? The National Enquirer? The ACORN kids? Glenn Beck?

See, we can agree on something, “civil liberty” guy that you are (whatever that means, exactly,) and raving independent moderate that I am.

  16. I’m hoping Cenk’s ratings for Ed did well on Friday, but Friday’s are usually not too hot for MSNBC (or cable news, in general). With Cenk doing his thing, though, you never know what’s going to happen. His total viewers got better each day throughout the week, too… and that’s great news.

  17. That’s what I would suggest, as well. Cenk would be a perfect fit being on between Ratigan and Schultz in the afternoon. That’s a hard hitting trio that can take the wing nuts to school before handing it off to the power lineup of Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow, and O’Donnell.

  18. I agree. Smerconish is definitely a sleeper… he’s been filling-in on MSNBC for years now, and he’s essentially an employee there, as regular contributor, I believe. It might be tough getting him a time slot on the network, unless they put him at 3pm before Ratigan, or something. I think that would be a good spot for Smerc.

MSNBC needs to work hard to fill up these time slots with real personalities and get ready for the mid-terms, and beyond. They’ve already added Martin Bashir in the afternoon and also Richard Lui from CNN, whose a great straight news anchor.

Regardless of a Republican takeover (or not) in Congress this year, MSNBC needs to come hard and take it to the Republicans and conservatives who are hell bent on destroying this country and taking it back to the GWB years. I, for one, am not intent on letting that happen.

  19. Don’t you love the irony of these wing nuts talking about Grayson not going on Fox (which I’m sure he would love to), but there are people like Angle and Rand Paul completely ignoring ANY requests to go on all the other networks except Fox?

  20. That just shows how relevant Bret Baier is to your daily life… especially when you thought his name was Brit.
