The Year of Betty White Continues As She Wins Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy

Another good week for Betty White.  Earlier in the week Hot In Cleveland ended its first season with good numbers (great numbers, by TV Land standards), now she's won an Emmy.

It seems like only yesterday that there was a massive, and ultimately successful Facebook campaign to land Betty White the hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.  She's done that campaign proud winning the Emmy for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for her turn as host on Saturday Night Live at today's Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

I was surprised she wasn’t there to accept the award, well I guess she’ll be on the Primetime Emmy Awards

    I love her.. Congrats!!

This seems more like a popularity contest (aren’t they always?) then actually the best show. Tina Fey’s was a better show quite simply.

Next year when she’s 89, will she be able to do 20 eps of Cleveland? Will Wm Shatner be able to keep up with 24 eps of his new show? We better enjoy them while we still can.

So when’s Abe Vigoda going to get a new show!!!

She’s funny as hell and by all accounts a wonderful person, she deserves the recognition she’s getting right now. So I say, more power to her. Personally, I’m a little tired of Saturday Night Live myself. It seems to have gotten bland, relying more on shock value rather then traditional comedy. Betty White is a breath of fresh air if you ask me. Honestly, with the popularity of retro right now I’ve had the fortune of seeing some of the classic stuff…like back when Chevy Chase and Eddie Murphy were on the show. SNL was much funnier back then imo.

Huh? Abe Vigoda? Is “Fish” on Facebook? Can we get him on SNL too?????????

  7. Betty White’s renaissance was spurred by a Snicker’s commercial during the Super Bowl; Abe Vigoda appears at the end of that commercial.

  8. I think Shatner will only have to do 13 episodes of “Shat My Dad Says.”
