THR reports its sources claim between endorsements, book deals, iPhone apps, etc. that Jersey Shore's Mike Sorrentino will make $5 million this year.   After fanning the fires of outrage,  THR  then poured  gasoline on it by including the graphic below:

Those hoping that the Jersey Shore casts'  fifteen minutes of fame will soon expire, don't get your hopes up.  After setting yet another ratings record last Thursday night, the fame clock looks to be ticking at least a little while longer.

this is why i want to cancel my dish network service.

  2. Robert: You ruined my morning coffee with this post! :)

  3. If THR doesn’t have enough brains to block comment spamming, I wouldn’t rely on their investigative/financial auditing skills.

My guess is their one and only source is “The Situation’s” business manager – who has every financial incentive (he gets a %) to inflate “The Sitz’s” earnings in order to up his “quote” for future work.

It’s not a completely fair comparison, is it? His $5M is including endorsements, book deals, iPhone apps, etc…. but the others are based strictly on a single movie or TV show. I’d be willing to bet Scarlett Johansson is making a hell of a lot more than $5M this year…

The real piece of news is The Iron Man/Scarlett J. thing. Did she really make so little money for Iron Man? I mean, she’s one of the most famous actresses nowadays and she wasn’t featuring in a low-budget movie.

Mike Sorrentino is smarter than he looks. One day this will be known as “the classic line-up” of the ‘Jersey Shore’ legacy.

Here’s a really cool piece about the money reality stars make – and whether they deserve the cash…

Interesting reading for anyone who loves these shows – or who’s ever fancied having their own reality show!

I haven’t seen IM2 (I didn’t want to tarnish my love of IM, plus I hate ScarJo), but I was assured that she was barely in the movie.

    Haha.. Go Sitch!!

Thanks for the nth times Julia. I didn’t watch either and like you, I don’t even like Scarlett J. and her “acting”. I thought that was the case (that she was barely in the movie).

Yet I’m surprised she didn’t get at least the double, considering that IM was a blockbuster movie with a huge budget( $ 200M!!!! ) and a sure bet for success (considering how well it fared the first one). I mean, it couldn’t go wrong at the box office.

  11. Her stunt double probably made the other half seing that she had more screen time than the real Scarlette

So Scarlett took $250K to appear in a sure hit, for a bit part that wasn’t in the first movie. I’d say it was a good move to boost her career. And she probably would have done it for free if Jessica Biel was also in consideration for the role.

I’m as outraged at the “success” of these people from Jersey Shore as any fan of good entertainment, but their comparisons are ridiculous. They’re comparing a total of his earnings to one single project from these actors. It’s a safe bet that all of these people are making more than $5 million when you combine every source of income the way they did for the Situation.

    Five MILLION? Right.
How many of these endorsements do you think will actually come to fruition?
A BOOK deal? If you’re watching “Jersey Shore” I doubt you read anything more challenging than cereal boxes.
The fitness video makes sense. Will it sell? That remains to be seen.
Don’t blame the guy for wanting to capitalize on this fame but 5mil. is a bit of a stretch (pun intended)

  17. my family is looking for work and this asshat is making 5 million to just drink and party all the time? this is some BS and is signaling the end of the world

I’m not feeling bad for her, I don’t think she’s hurting for money! ;-)

Hee at the Jessica Biel comment.

What makes me very sad is that Emily Blunt (who I love) was supposed to have that role, but she passed to do some indie movie. :(

Wow that makes me extremely ill & more than that sad. Fortunately he’ll be a nobody in a couple years & everyone else on that list will continue to make money & make quality things. Who wants to bet this guy will file for bankruptcy some time in his life? I sure wish Anna was making more money than that. Less than a Mil a year? Seems pretty messed up when Ray Romano & Kelsey Grammer were both making more than $2 mil an EPISODE @ the end of their shows run. Can’t imagine how much they are pulling in from Syndication! How nice for them to receive those checks every month for the rest of their lives. I bet Cheadle will make a ton for “Iron Man 3″ & “The Avengers.” Plus Anna has won an Oscar & Cheadle’s been nominated so their careers aren’t going anywhere.
