Continuing our hour by hour coverage of the fall schedule, we move to Tuesday nights at 9pm. Two new sitcoms from Fox, Raising Hope & Running Wilde join veterans The Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars the Results Show, Life Unexpected and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Tuesday Night 9pm-10pm:
|Dancing with the Stars Results Show|
|NCIS: Los Angeles|
|Raising Hope New||Running Wilde New|
Will this be the year Fox finds success with live action comedy? Fox is launching two of them in this hour on the back of Glee which airs at 8pm. While Fox has had great success with its animated comedies on Sunday nights, live action has been another story. If you're betting based on recent past performance, you're betting against Fox succeeding here. My guess is that when things settle down after everything has premiered Fox will wind up fourth in the hour. But, expect Fox to be patient with Raising Hope & Running Wilde unless the ratings are just plain awful.
Who'll win? Though the wild card of whether Dancing with the Stars has an up cycle is in play for Monday nights, that's not as big of a deal with the results show. Look for NBC to win this hour with the second hour of The Biggest Loser followed by NCIS: Los Angeles, the DWTS Results Show and the Fox sitcoms. CW's Life Unexpected is sure to finish last for the hour regardless, but the question is whether it will perform well enough to get its "back 9" order since currently it has only been renewed for 13 episodes.
The above discussion is for the advertising coveted adults 18-49 demographic. With total viewers I'd look for the hour to go CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX.
Next Tuesday (August 31) I’ll cover Tuesday from 10pm-11pm, tomorrow (Wednesday, August 25) I’ll cover Wednesday at 9pm. You can find all the hour-by-hour coverage here.
