If you’re getting déjà vu, it’s not you, it’s us. Right after the nominations back in early July, Bill did a series of posts on the major Emmy categories, and with the Emmy Awards coming up on Sunday, I’m re-posting them this week.
This is the fifth of our "2010 Emmys, Who'll Win? Who Should?" posts, to see all our posts on the 2010 Emmys click here.
The 2010 62nd Annual Emmy Awards nominations are in.
Since every 2009 winner in the six categories we'll focus on was nominated yet again (are they ever not nominated unless they're ineligible?), I'll use the same predicting, without predicting, method I used for the nominations.
In that case, my pick for Outstanding Comedy Series must be 2009's (and 2008, and 2007) winner 30 Rock. This is another pick, like Lead Actress in a Comedy, that based on increased competition I don't feel very confident in.
In a double poll, here's your chance to tally who you think SHOULD win, and who you think WILL win.
Feel free to explain.
The 2010 62nd Annual Emmy Awards airs on NBC on August 29, 2010.

Out of the shows listed here, I laughed the hardest at 30 Rock, even though it wasn’t their best season. But Modern Family will most probably take this, and deservedly so, I might add.
As long as 30 Rock doesn’t take it I’m good. It didn’t deserve it the first three times, but if it wins for a bad season like this, then really…
I loved 30 Rock and Modern Family, but thought that 30 Rock was tens of times funnier than Modern Family. Modern Family is like a modern day Malcolm in the Middle or a live action Simpsons, it may be funny but it’s not the best. In fact I don’t think that any of the shows on this list can hold a candle to The Big Bang Theory, which was really snubbed by the Academy, they might have been turned off by The Sheldon Cooper Show, which is what it became by the end of the season.
Modern Family please. As long as it’s not Glee, I’ll be fine.
The Big Bang Theory should win, oh wait, it’s not there!
I have a feeling stupid glee will win, But I am hoping for modern family
It’s a tough choice between 30 Rock and Modern Family.
As much as I hate when shows win awards repeatedly, I have to give it up to 30 Rock. Some may not agree, but I thought this season was really strong and it had some memorable episodes and guest stars: Dealbreakers talk show, the valentines day episode, Michael Sheen, Matt Damon, etc.
And Modern Family is just excellent.
I think this is the first time that I actually like all the shows nominated so I’m already pleased with the results!
Glee & Curb Your Enthusiasm are my least favorite of them all. Curb does deserve kudos for not really having scripts yet always being pretty darn good. I like Glee but would deem it more deserving if they showcased the actor’s voices like in a live musical instead of being auto-tuned post production lip syncing.
The Office and 30 Rock are still pretty solid but had their weakest season to date. Nurse Jackie was excellent for 12 episodes, Modern Family was excellent for 23 episodes with one one subpar episode — I didn’t like the iPad one.
Regardless, I think it’s a little unfair to pit a show that has to produce 24 or so consistently good episodes to a show that has to only put out 12 solid episodes in a calendar year. So my vote goes to Modern Family!
Will Win: Glee
Should Win: Modern Family
People think modern family should win? REALLY? ugh u people have no taste
I don’t care what anyone says, 30 Rock had a lot of funny episodes this season. Even a “bad” episode is still better than most other shows.
But I’m rooting for Modern Family. Brilliant show, absolutely deserves to win.
I think Glee is about the cheesiest thing I have ever seen on television. While Jane Lynch is genius on it, the show overall is s cheesy and the acting is so bad. I am stunned at the show’s nominations. That is just my opinion. I think Modern Family is the comedy series TV was looking for.
None of these should win.The winner wasn’t nominated. The Big Bang Theory. The funniest show
on the air.The five shows that were nominated don’t even come close.
Maybe if we had a little asparagus we’d be more to your liking.
I think Glee will win.
Out of the nominees I’d prefer the Emmy go to Curb, though I wish shows like Party Down and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia were also nominated.

“Modern Family is like a modern day Malcolm in the Middle or a live action Simpsons”
I think you meant to put down The Middle instead of Modern Family. Modern Family is very different from Malcolm and The Simpsons. It’s style of humor is mostly quirk-free (and very creative, in my opinion), while the latter two shows rely heavily on quirky situations for comedy. The Middle, on the other hand, is very similar to Malcolm and The Simpsons because it relies heavily on quirky comedy. The Middle’s funny but I don’t think it’s the best comedy (I think Modern Family is).
Also, I completely agree that TBBT was snubbed this year. So what if it’s The Sheldon Cooper Show?
The most consistently funny show of the last season, community, isn’t on the list so I guess I’ll have to go with “none” for who should win.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is the only decent show on the list…the rest are all either overrated. Unfortunately the Emmy voters will all be jumping on the Glee bandwagon this year.
