In the final numbers for Saturday's two hour finale of Persons Unknown, it averaged 1.58 million viewers and a 0.4 rating with adults 18-49. Both measures were up a little versus Persons Unknown's penultimate Saturday telecast.
Some have asked whether there would be a season two. Don't get your hopes up and certainly don't hold your breath. There's really no doubt that Saturday's finale was both a season and a series finale.

and what an amazing GRAN FINALE! I’m in shock.
Level two!
Finale is too kind a word for what was shown. We don’t need to rehash this, but I’m hoping they burn the master tapes for this show. If there ever needed to be a DVD burning party, this show gets my vote.
I thought it was a GREAT show … too bad the ratings were so bad, they still had a lot of questions to answer.
I am surprised the ratings were that good considering most markets aired it on secondary NBC stations. In NY, it wasn’t on Channel 4 NBC, it was on Channel 161 NBC, so it was like going a hunting. In fact, I missed episode 10 because my DVR didn’t know it was on… The show had a lot of holes, but all in all I think it was great summer mindless entertainment.
1.58 million? How can that be, when at least 3 million people have made posts about it in various places on the internet, expressing their nerd rage?
I believe it was episode 10 that was only shown online.
In Detroit, episode 12 was pre-empted by Wheel of Fortune and an infomerical for shoe inserts! Then they shower Episode 13 in the 9pm timeslot.
Yeah, it seems NBC just repeatedly handled the show poorly (bad time slot, moving the time, web-only episodes, allowing some shoes/commercials to play into the show’s air time). As another poster mentioned, there are so many people across the internet calling for a season 2.
some things are just really unappealing and Nathan was using sarcasm about the number of viewers.
Wow, so I guess there was enough interest (traffic) for Persons Unknown to have a special report for its final ratings? Because TVBTN does not usually do this for shows being burned off

I enjoyed the show itself. However, it was badly handled. Moving a show around doesn’t help ratings, guys. Jeeze! Also, not airing an episode was really bad form. Not everyone has a computer yet and even though I do, my video card or speed or something doesn’t stream the video smoothly. And then false advertising that all answers would be revealed just really pissed me off when they weren’t. Still don’t know who these guys are behind this or why they’re doing what they are doing. All we are left with is the beginning of a story and a mystery with no satisfaction. I’m going to stop watching new series entirely until I know there will be more than 13 episodes and some kind of an ending. I’ll just wait until they are released on DVD and wait until they show up at Half Price Books or Movie Trading Company or swap on Swap.com. So their precious ratings can go to Level Two without me.
Looks like a lot of people came back to watch the series finale just so they can get the question “answered”, too bad they didn’t get. For once, NBC got the last laugh.
I only did this the last couple of weeks because there were a lot of local preemptions on Saturday night and the difference between the overnight report and finals was substantial.
that is sooo ridiculous this was an amazing show that kept everyone on the edge of their seat and anyone who says otherwise neeeds to get their head outta their ass
The most absurd ending ever. What a waste of 2 hours. NBC…shame on you.
I don’t agree. It wasn’t a waste of 2 hours… it was a waste of 13 hours! Definitely shame on NBC.
I watch this show for the first time and I really like it. In fact I did not know the name. I have been search for the name of this show for the last two days. It reminds me of “Lost”.
Hulu had them all, watched them all and loved it, say what will I really did
