Once again (and still) we have the great pleasure to inform you that:
- Wheel of Fortune is still the #1 show in syndication
- Jeopardy is #2
- Two and a Half Men was #3
- Judge Judy was #4 (excluding the way Nielsen includes ESPN Monday Night Football syndication)
Judge Judy beat Oprah for the 21st time in 23 weeks and still her honor can't get a cable network named after her. Jerry Springer once again beat Ellen DeGeneres. Springer is on a modest roll. He's not at the top of the charts (or even in the top 25) but he had his best week in total viewers in over 3 years (August 20, 2007) with 2.29 million. Maury once again ruled The Talk show space with younger viewers (#1 with adults 18-34 and women 18-34).
As for Law & Order: Criminal Intent its weekend syndication was #14 in viewing for the week and I bring that up just to have something new in one of these posts.
Friday Night Smackdown was out of the top 25, averaging 2.777 million viewers for the week and a 1.7 household rating on Friday, August 13.
Please note that the syndicated weekly results are delayed versus normal reporting. While we get the broadcast and cable ratings for the prior Monday-Sunday period every Tuesday, there is an extra week of lag time with the syndicated ratings and these numbers are not for last week, but for the week before last.
ESPN Monday Night Football is syndicated to a local affiliate in the markets of the two teams playing. Unfortunately (for us) Nielsen includes all of the viewing that happened on ESPN too (which was almost all of it) in the numbers below.

Kudos to finding new angle on this syndicated ratings reports
Still do not understand wide appeal of Two and a half Men. People love Charly Sheen that much?
Compared to other comedies, Two and a Half Men has way more hot chicks.
criminal intent great show bring back vinny and katie for the 10 season
Love that Criminal Intent is #14 in syndication, it us constantly the best written Law & Order series.
If there is a 10th season.
Robert, Love your humor this week, nice morning chuckle for me…
How about for a change of pace, reporting on the shows that have disapeared from the top 25 over the summer, such as the Opraesque Dr. Phil and Dr. OZ, we haven’t seen them in many weeks. Tired of them too?
Judge Judy has no delusion that we would want her product 24 hours a day, a little JJ goes a long way. Maybe? people do get smarter as they get older.
Any guess on the numbers Oprah will attract once her final season begins next week? Can she draw in the 6-8 million viewers as she once did?
aside from these posts, I really don’t follow syndicated talkers and I have no idea who the scheduled guests for the premiere week of her final season are (or who they were last year). Your guess is probably better than mine.
What the reason for always comparing Oprah and Judge Judy? They are completely diffferent shows. Oprah is still #1 in talk shows, so is there really a story there?
