DENNIS MILLER:  THE BIG SPEECH, STARRING THE EMMY®-WINNING

HBO FAVORITE IN HIS FIRST SPECIAL ON THE NETWORK

IN FOUR YEARS, TO DEBUT THIS NOVEMBER

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2010 – Emmy® Award-winning comedian Dennis Miller returns to HBO for his first HBO special in four years when DENNIS MILLER:  THE BIG SPEECH debuts this November, it was announced today by Nancy Geller, senior vice president, HBO.  His eighth stand-up special on the network will debut Nov. 19.

“Dennis Miller is a fearless and provocative comedy talent,” noted Geller.  “It’s great to have his comedic voice and point of view back on HBO.”

Currently heard on his daily Westwood One national talk radio show, Miller was a fixture on HBO for nine years with his talk and comedy series “Dennis Miller Live,” which ended in 2002 after 215 editions.  The show received five Emmys®, and was the first HBO series to win an Emmy® in any series category, winning in 1996 for Variety, Music or Comedy Series.

An alumnus of “Saturday Night Live,” Miller starred in seven previous HBO  specials, beginning with 1988’s “Mr. Miller Goes to Washington,” and most recently, 2006’s “Dennis Miller:  All In.”  He also made six appearances on HBO’s “Comic Relief™” all-star benefits.

DENNIS MILLER:  THE BIG SPEECH is a Happy Family production; executive producers, Dennis Miller, Kevin C. Slattery and Marc Gurvitz; directed by Jim Yukich; written by Dennis Miller.

I used to love him but now just the sight of him makes me cringe.

Funny gut he switched his views after 9/11 and so did I.

I used to be a big time Dennis Miller fan and I watched his latest HBO special last night; he wasn’t as funny as the past and I thought some of his act was an extention of his short segments on the O’Reilly Factor–and it was with his bashing of Obama and Nancy Perlosi. He’s been funnier. But I guess the Conservatives finally have comedian of their own.
