    Get down ATWT — kick ass on your way out!

  5. Oh I was about to say I was like I saw these last week but I’m glad you posted them anyways.

    4 out of the remaining 7 soaps are up from last year which is a good sign.

    GH is doing well with Brenda back but they’ve been doing well all summer taking their spot back as ABC’s top soap away from AMC. I’m really worried about OLTL which has been bleeding viewers and become a last place soap.

    ATWT should still be on air somewhere with these numbers. Just b/c it got yanked doesn’t mean its run was actually over it still got some batteries left in it.

    ATWT was cancelled because of those awful women demos. At least OLTL does ok with that. Its the only thing that makes money. Plus ABC owns their soaps so they get all the profit. CBS doesnt make as much money off their shows like ABC.

  7. Cartman

    Be warned they are not done. ATWT had a $50 million budget, no one is interested in soaps once they are gone, they are gone. The networks aren’t interested improving the soaps. The question is which one will be next. ABC is planing on reduce their soaps to three days a week or reducing them to have a year. Y&R has a 2 year contract which is up next year. Soaps were once renewed every 5yrs. but now just two, they kind of knew it was the end for ATWT & GL when they were recuduce to once a year. A frighting synero for soap fans.

    If GH was consistant it could draw alot more viewers. Theres an addiction to that soap when it’s at its best. Actually comparible to some primetime fare. Unfortunately when they’re done with a good story the filler is not the greatest. It moves at a faster pace than most of daytime and the actors are top notch. Just needs consistancy in my opinion. It’s hard enough to get new viewers when the same sceenarios play out year after year. There’s no super couples to rroot for. Everyone cheats these days, why? Patrick and Robin were last hope but nope screwed that up to. Everyone thought lucky and liz were boring but they brought alot of realism to the show. No fancy house kids and relatable daily struggles.(I do miss Greg Vaughn) Anyway go Gh up in demo! Come on OLTL although the players are to new I still care.

    I HAVE TO SAY WHEN HUNTER TYLO IS ABSENT FROM BB THE RATING ARE SO DOWN. BROOKE AND RIGDE MUCH AIRED TIME ONLY CAUSE THE RATINGS TO GO DOWN. LET TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER WHHEN TAYLOR AND HER CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED IN BB INCLUDING STEPHANIE THE RATINGSARE HOT. THEY WILL NOT GIVE TAYLOR CREDIT FOR CAUSING THE RISE IN BB. THE CREDIT IS PUT ON RIDGE AND BROOKE’S PLATE NOT SO. I WISH THE AIR HEAD WRITER’S AND NETWORKS COULD REALIZE THEY ARE A WASTE TO DAYTIME TV. THEIR ONLY MISSION IS TO KILL THE SOAPS THAT’S LEFT. BOB GUZA, BRIAN FRON, PAUL RANCH IS AN INSULT TO THE LATE WILLIAM BELL SR AS HE DOESN’T HAVE THE GIFT OF WRITING OR CREATIVITY AS MY MAN MR. WILLIAM BELL SR. YET THEY CAN’T SEEM TO RECOGNIZE THAT IT SAD. I SAY THEY’RE A WASTE OF TIME. LET’S NOT GET THE LATE WILLIAM BELL SR FAMILY LIKE BRADLEY BELL AND MARIA BELL. THESE WRITERS WILL NOT BE REMEMBER LIKE THE LATE WILLIAM BELL SR , GLORIA MONTY, AND AGNES NIXON. WAIT AND SEE THEY WILL ONLY BE AN AFTER THOUGHT AND THAT’S A GOOD THING.

  10. Chad

    I have been dvdr’ing World Turns and watching it when I get home from work… It’s so sad that this show has been cancelled! Right now, the show is brilliant!

  11. shawn

    @Chad.

    yeah but the sad thing is. ATWT just started getting good after they got notice that it would be cancelled soon. prior to that the show sucked and the writing was horrible for everyone on the cast. and allot of fans agreed that it’s better to just put the show out of it’s misery then to see it slowly crash and burn like GL. i only wished that ATWT was as good as it is right now then maybe it wouldn’t be gone.

    But the ratings are still bad though and that woulda still prevented ATWT from staying on the network any longer.

  12. Mozcarwilde

    Based on ATWT’s trajectory lately, I predict 3.1 million viewers during the final week.

  13. Demetric Cotton

    It has been two months since ATWT went off and I miss it. The show has a lot of more stories to tell and we may not get to see these stories because talk shows are going to keep popimh up. We the people should show the network that we don’t want these talk show on by not supporting them but that won’t happen because The Talk ‘s ratings beated ATWT the first week and that is sad. If the talk shows beat soaps that is the emd of soaps.
