Jersey Shore cannot be stopped. Its 3.3 adults 18-49 rating (up from a 3.0 last week) humbled everything else telecast nationally last night, broadcast or cable.

Project Runway, which I posted about earlier, did quite well with a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating, up from a 1.3 rating last week.

Futurama slipped to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating from a 1.1 rating last week.

American Chopper: Senior vs Junior picked up a tenth of an adults 18-49 ratings point from last week.

Those details and more of Thursday's cable ratings via Travis Yanan:

Wow Jersey Shore numbers are HUGE. I can’t believe it had the most viewers of the night.

It’s as thought MTV is becoming… relevant again!

I love Jersey Shore! It’s nothing compared to most smart scripted series but it’s so damn entertaining!!!

  4. Those are huge numbers. What is the attraction of this show? Project Runway’s gamble of moving to Lifetime is now paying off with what seems to be comparable numbers to what they were doing on Bravo during a summer run.

  5. people find the show and its “stars” entertaining, and increasingly so.

Please tell me Im seeing things and Jersey Shore did not just get a 3.3 demo and 6.5 million viewers.

  7. Jersey Shore (10pm)
    - 3.3/10 A18-49 (!!!)
High numbers but I’m more concerned with the 6.7/25 T12-17….Parental control anyone?

Another thing that is surprising is despite that MTV is playing an episode of Jersey Shore gazillion times a week, people are still tuning in on its Thursday 9pm (central) slot. Last night I watched the encore at 10:30pm central. I wonder what’s the rating of the 30-minute After Show.

So unless True Blood hit a new high, Snookie will have beaten Sookie for this week.

Jersey Shore truly is a monster, wonder if the absent of Burn Notice has helped both it and Runway?

True Blood is off this week due to the Labor Day weekend.

WOAHHHHHH. that’s insane. 3.3? LMAO i can’t help but laugh at how amazing, but rediculous that is

What’s funny about “Jersey Shore” is that people who actually live in New Jersey are getting fed up with the program and all its negative stereotypes – but people outside the Northeast find it more and more entertaining for some reason. Begs the question though – are they laughing with the cast or at them???

This is off topic but does anyone else experience this?

When I try to show the replies to posts on my iPhone it doesn’t open?

  14. Same thing happens to me.

@rich, yup. Has been happening for awhile now. I even try to turn off the mobile version of this site but it does not work. It’s the default. :/

A reply-to-post doesn’t open when it’s on a different page from the comment that links to it. Something to do with how the comment number is processed when the comment is not on the same page, I guess.

  17. there are two sets of flakiness at play. Disqus upgraded its software to detect whether you’re using a mobile device and if you are, it collapses the replies. There is no way on our end to shut that off. The software that optimizes for iPhone has definitely been flaky since the latest upgrade. I might be able to fix things so that you have the option to load the normal version of the site again, but I’m not sure that will solve the disqus problem. It would still collapse replies but the button to expand them might work.

and they say Mike “The Situation” isn’t a star for Dancing with the Stars. When you have one of the highest rated cable shows, let alone shows on television, I think you qualify as a star.
