Update: Sometimes the rankings we receive from Nielsen don't include all of the Disney shows. The preview of Fish Hooks on Friday night wasn't included in those rankings and didn't get into the table below, but would've been ranked #8 with 4.8 million.
Disney's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam's debut on Friday night topped all cable viewing for the week with nearly 8 million viewers. While no High School Musical 2 (17.2 million in August 2007) it was good enough to top the week.
The episode of The Closer that came the day after Kyra Sedgwick won her best actress Emmy was second for the week.
Some claim Jersey Shore's fifteen minutes of fame is already over, but you wouldn't get that idea from the ratings which continue to wax, rather than wane. Last week it had over 6.5 million viewers and a monstrous 3.3 adults 18-49 rating.
Rizzoli & Isles was down a bit but still continued its impressive freshman season with total viewers where it came in fourth. The rest of the top 25 is below.
please note: the numbers below for Rizzoli & Isles and The Closer and any Monday show referenced here are for Monday August 30, not Monday September 6.
As usual, we have already posted almost all of this data separately, as well as quite a bit of data for shows that aren't on the list below. Give our site's search feature near the top right of the site a try or our Overnight Cable TV Show Ratings category.

We always post whatever specific show data we received directly and see via press release or other trade publications. You can subscribe to our RSS feed and we have created a special category (Overnight Cable TV Show Ratings) to group the data we typically post each weekday from @TravisYanan on Twitter. During the week Travis usually posts selected cable results for each weekday, usually late in the afternoon on the east coast (and Friday night data isn't posted until Monday) and he posts the links to that info on his Twitter account to the info on Marc Berman's PI Forums.

Since we know that household ratings are meaningless and demos are where it’s at, this list doesn’t mean much to me. I’d be more interested in comparing the demo ratings for cable ad-supported shows.

While I’m sure Bill and Robert would be glad to post that sort of list if they received all the demo ratings for cable, it’s harder to compare cable that way. The networks don’t target the same demos.

The household ratings are meaningless in terms of how a show is doing, but it can give you an idea for which shows are more of a family affair.
Though personally, I agree with you, we usually receive demo data well after we receive the viewer #s. I’ve posted top 25 cable shows with 18-49 on several occasions and almost nobody looked at them.

Top Chef didn’t make the top 25, I see, although Project Runway is doing very well.
Wouldn’t demos be all over the place for cable anyway? The good demos for Penguins of Madagascar and Spongebob would be different than the good demos for O’Reilly Factor and College Football. Disney’s good demos would be different from those. They all have a different target base, so including total viewers, like this, gives a general idea of a show’s popularity. There are shows that target women and those that target men so then we would need charts by gender. The best way to find out if a show is pulling whatever the network wants is by whether it is picked up or not, not the best way. Think of all the cable pick-ups you’ve seen lately. Could you tell by the numbers in the chart that Leverage, for instance, would be renewed? It’s like a code and we are not completely clued in to the secret.

Cath is correct.
An additional reason (besides those cited by Robert) that we don’t post demo ratings for cable shows is that each cable network may be targeting a completely different demo group for its advertisers.

Would be interesting how Two and a Half Men is doing for FX, I’m not expecting NCIS numbers but I reckon it’ll be a solid performer.
