MSNBC gets more A25-54 primetime viewers on a slow-news Labor Day than they get on any regular weekday, just by showing fuzzy video clips of inmates being hosed down and spreading their cheeks for the camera.

How DID they get hold of Keefy’s “private stash” of home movies, anyway?
I guess many viewers are suffering from the TV equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome.
Perhaps Comcast should note that they could save money by eliminating all non-prime MSNBC shows in lieu of reality crime shows and maybe some “Law&Order” re-runs.

Fresh from being fired from NBC sports, Keith Olberman appeared on the Letterman show last night.
The result was revulsion on the part of the audience but in addition he caused a serious accident when he left the set.
Letterman’s announcer Alan Coulter slipped and fell on Olberman’s slime trail.

In a discussion about upcoming 9/11 events and commemorations, Morning Joe shows a picture of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin with Pastor Jones of Koran-burning fame. Oh, I get it! They want us to associate Beck and Palin with Jones! Wow…subtle.
To go even further, Mr. Thrill himself, Chris “where have my viewers gone?” Matthews decided to attack Sarah Palin and others for not condemning the pastor harshly enough and for “creating” the link between his actions and the Park51/Cordoba House/whatever it is this week “Community Center (Mosque).”
Idiot.
I’m no fan of Palin, but Matthews is stretching the idea tighter than Ed’s ever-growing waistband, and it was the media (MSNBC included) that gave this guy more exposure than he deserved. Oh well, at least Chris didn’t call for Jones to be imprisioned, like Pat Buchanan and Donny “my daddy gave me my company” Deutsch did. Dumb and Dumber obviously aren’t aware of the law, the Constitution, and the fact that as of now, the burning would be completely legal, providing local permits and ordinances were secured and followed.
Burning any book is asinine, but threats of violence or imprisonment is more so. There’s no shortage of idiocy to go around regardless of religious or ideological beliefs. It will be interesting to see if the ACLU will defend the burning of the Koran as a civil liberty, if it should come to that.
If they are consistent, they will, considering they have gone to bat for many other First Amendment Issues when it was Christians who were being offended (e.g. the cruxifix in urine and Mary covered in dung “art” exhibits, past bible burning, and similar events.)
I think most sane people agree that this “pastor” of 50 people/cultists is a whackjob out for publicity, but I’m sad he got so much exposure from the Media, Gen. Petreaus, and the White House, when they have failed to comment on or condemn similar nutmeats like the Westboro folks who protest at soldier’s funerals. At this point, we probably have to wait for a SCOTUS case to determine the ultimate “legality,” but as a fomer professor of mine was fond of saying, “you can’t legislate against stupidity- that would put all the politicians, and most of the judges and lawyers in jail!”
