Here's something you don't see every week... Oh wait, you do see it every week. Once again (and still, and perhaps always) we have the great pleasure to inform you that:
- Wheel of Fortune is still the #1 show in syndication
- Jeopardy was #2
- Two and a Half Men was #3
- Judge Judy was #4 (excluding the way Nielsen includes ESPN Monday Night Football in the numbers)
Judge Judy beat Oprah for the 22nd time in 24 weeks. But Oprah was awarded a Kennedy Center honor and Judy wasn't and Oprah was still the #1 talk show.
Jerry Springer beat Ellen DeGeneres for the fourth straight week. Springer is still on a bit of a roll increasing 23% from the same week last year.
Maury once again ruled the talk show space with younger viewers (#1 with adults 18-34 and women 18-34) and was #2 in overall viewership.
Martha Stewart is fading to black in more ways than one. She hit a season low in household rating (0.4) and was in a 7 way tie for 114th place overall. Stewart was down 33% vs. the same week last year (repeats vs. repeats). Effective September 13, Ms. Stewart's show moves exclusively to the Hallmark Channel.
Friday Night Smackdown was back in the top 25 and in the table below.
Please note that the syndicated weekly results are delayed versus normal reporting. While we get the broadcast and cable ratings for the prior Monday-Sunday period every Tuesday, there is an extra week of lag time with the syndicated ratings and these numbers are not for last week, but for the week before last.
ESPN Monday Night Football is syndicated to a local affiliate in the markets of the two teams playing. Unfortunately (for us) Nielsen includes all of the viewing that happened on ESPN too (which was almost all of it) in the numbers below.
